Watch a video about “What are the friends doing?”

Review the present progress tense by making some sentences. Step 2 Pre-reading

Tell students the TV report is about a student Zhu Hui. 2.

Ask students to predict what the passage is about according to the pictures. Step 3 While-reading Ask students to finish the six challenges one by one. 1.

Challenge one

Read the article and answer the two questions.

What time is it now?

Check the answers with the class. 2.

Challenge two ①

Read paragraph one loudly and underline the sentences with “be + Ving”. ②

Ask students to read the sentences. 3.

Challenge three Ask students to think one question: Is ZhuHui also watching the races and eating zongzi? Why or why not?

Group work: Supposing that it is the Dragon Boat Festival today, make a telephone call to your friend ZhuHui, trying to ask more information. Step 5 Summary
