本单元的中心话题是谈论天气，这种话题较贴近学生生活，易激发学生的兴趣。同时本单元在第六单元的基础上继续学习现在进行时态和一般现在时态的比较，学生较容易接受。本单元还重点学习了有关天气的形容词以及谈论天气的重要句型，并针对这一话题还设置了“打电话”的真实情景，该语境特别贴近学生生活实际，更利于学生多本单元内容的学习。
