Unit 7 What does he look like?（第一课时）教学设计

一、教学目标

1. 能用英语描述人的外貌，包括身高、体重、发型

2. 学习完成任务所需要的语言：

1）词汇：hair, curly, straight, tall, medium, height, thin, heavy, build, always

2）句子：--What does he look like?

-- She is of medium build, and she has long hair.

3）语法：能区别is与has的用法

二、教学环节

1. 出示课题

（板书：Unit 7 What does he look like?）

T: Hi, boys and girls. Nice to see you! How are you today?

【事先准备好10张图片，分别是四张有关发型（长发，短发，卷发直发），三张有关身高（高个男孩，矮个男孩，中等个头男孩）, 三张有关体形（胖女孩，瘦女孩，中等身材女孩）。】

3. 语言输入、词汇句型教学

1）展示课件，一边展示一边说，同时在黑板上板书出划线生词。

T: Now look, this boy is Mike. He is short and heavy.（做手势“矮”和“胖”）And this one is Jet, he is of medium height and medium build. And this one is Maria. She is tall and thin.（做手势“高”和“瘦”）（继续画三个人的头发）What about their haircuts. Mike has short straight hair. Jet has short curly hair and Maria has long straight hair.

2）T:（指着黑板上的生词领读）Now let's read all these words together: short hair, curly hair, long hair, straight hair, tall, short, medium height, thin, heavy, medium build.

【全体学生跟着老师齐读单词。】

4. Section A, 1a

1）（1a中女孩Amy的图片）

T: （指着1a中Amy的图片）Now look at this girl. She is Amy. What does she look like? Can you describe her with some words on the blackboard? What about her height? S6, please.

S6: Of medium height.

T: And her build? S5, can you tell us?

S5: Thin

T: And her hair cut, S4, please.

S4: Long curly hair.

T: That's great.

T:（指着1a中主题图）Now Amy meets many people. What do they look like? Please match the words with the people in the picture. Amy遇见了许多人，请大家看课本41页，1a中的图片，图画中的人长什么样？请你们将图画中的人物与左边的单词配对。

3）T: Now, let's check the answers. I'll ask some students to tell me the answer.

1）T:（指着1a中主题图中的人物）Amy is going to meet one of her friend. Look at these people, who is Amy's friend? What does he or she look like? Let's listen to the tape and help Amy find her friend, OK? Amy现在要找到她的朋友，让我们一起听录音帮她找到朋友好吗？

（再用Amy过渡到听力）

T: For the first time, just listen, try to understand the meaning and find out Amy's friend. 请听第一遍，尽可能理解录音的意思，先帮Amy找出她的朋友。

2）T: Now listen again and fill in the blanks in the picture.现在听第二遍，完成1a中的填空。

1) T: Amy is very glad because she found her friend. Now, suppose one of the people in the picture above is your friend. Describe your friend and ask your friend will find him or her. 2) T: Now I'll ask two students to do as an example. S3 and S4, do you want a try?

S3: What does you friend look like?

S4: She is medium height and heavy. She has long straight hair.

S3: Oh, that's a.

T: Excellent. Thank you.

1) T: Nancy is Lily's friend. And I also have some friends here. But you can only see half of their photos. Now please guess what they look like. （显示不同人物形象，图片遮住一半，图片形式如PPT1。）

8. 描述自己最钦佩的人

T: Now I'd like you to describe a person who you admire most. 请同学们描述一个自己最钦佩的人。

S1: I admire Einstein most. He is a little short and he is medium build. He has long curly hair. He is old.

S2: I admire Yao Ming most. He is tall and medium build. He has short straight hair.

S3: I admire my mother most. She is medium height and thin. She has long curly hair.

T: Wonderful.

9. Homework

（1）请编一个对话谈论一下你的英语老师，写在练习本上；
