一、教材依据

人教版《新目标英语》七年级下册Unit 5 Why do you like koalas? Reading & Speaking. Topic: Animal Protection阅读课教学

二、设计思想

1．指导思想：本节课就从阅读技巧，即prediction, guessing, skimming, scanning, referencing, summarizing / retelling, associating & extending中的几个认知维度入手，侧重培养初中生的英语阅读思维能力。

2．教材分析：教学中心话题是介绍泰国学生发动挽救他们的国宝大象，从“大象的重要性”，

“大象的能力”，“有关大象的一些实事”，“如何挽救大象”。

分析文章得知第一段末尾的两句说明了大象的重要性。第二段叙述了大象的一些能力；第三段叙述了一些有关大象的事实；如何挽救大象也应根据第三段的内容得知。

3．设计理念：考虑到本篇阅读材料结构清晰这一特点，该课围绕“初中英语阅读教学中思维能力”这一主题，在学习方式上采取学生自主阅读，根据教师提示与点拨预测文本查找主旨、记录关键信息、推理判断、自主建构文章内容图式和结构图式以及设计徽章等相结合的方式，让学生自己研读、探究、体验，与文本对话，丰富自我，在阅读活动积极思考，自主分析和解构文本。在阅读满足学生个体需求的基础上使课堂呈现思维的多元性，把课堂真正还给学生。

4．学生分析：文本话题为保护动物话题。初一年学生对此话题比较熟悉，感兴趣，容易从背景知识、生活经验以及思维能力上与作者的思维进行碰撞，有助于能力的培养。有助于学生学会关爱动物，保护动物。

三、教学目标

基于对教学内容和学生情况的分析，笔者将本节课定位为以培养学生思维能力为主的阅读课，并制定了以下教学目标：

1. 能通过快速阅读识别并理解为何要挽救大象，通过略读、寻读获取“大象的重要性”，

“大象的能力”，“有关大象的一些实事”，“如何挽救大象”等内容。同时以思维导图的形式展示逻辑关系，侧重培养学生判断、拓展的能力，并善于抓住要点进行复述。

2. 能通过阅读让学生理解动物和人类都生活在同一地球上，动物是我们的朋友。我们人类应该

与动物和谐相处，共同生存。我们应当学会关爱动物，保护动物。

1) Importance in Thailand:

The elephant is one of Thailand’s symbols. The first flag has a white elephant on it.

This is a symbol of good luck.

2) Ability:

Elephants can play soccer. They can also draw very well. An elephant never forgets. They can walk for a long time and never get lost. They can also remember places with food and water.

3) Facts: Elephants are in great danger. People cut down many trees so elephants are losing their home. People also kill elephants for their ivory. 4) How to save elephants: We must save the trees and not buy things made of ivory. Remember March 13th is Thai Elephant Day.
