Unit 2 Is there a post office near here? Section B (2a-2c) 一、教学目标：

1. 语言知识目标：

1) 能掌握以下单词：spend, spend time, climb, road, air, sunshine, free, enjoy, enjoy reading, easily, money 2) 能掌握以下句型：

① I like to spend time there on weekends. ②

I love to watch the monkeys climbing around. ③

The best things in life are free! ④

It is very quiet and I enjoy reading there. When I read books, time goes quickly! ⑤

You can get to the library easily. 2. 情感态度价值观目标：

通过运用简单的问路和引路的交际用语，学会相互合作，培养乐于助人的精神。

通过三个同学对自己住处的描述，培养学生爱生活爱自己家乡的情感。

三、教学过程

Step 1 Warming up and revision 1.

Show a map of my neighborhood, let Ss review the knowledge learned before. Try to describe the places in my neighborhood by using: There is a ... in Amy’s neighborhood. It’s in front of/ behind/across from/between...and.../next to...

Let Ss guess the place I like to go most and why and how. 3.

Draw a mind map on the blackboard.

Step 2 Fast reading Read the passage quickly and mach each passage with the correct map. Tip: Find the key words while reading. Check the answers. Step 3 Careful reading Part 1

Read Anna’s neighborhood carefully and find the information. Q1: What is Anna’s favorite place? Q2: Why does she like to go there? Q3: How does she get there? Solve the problems one by one and ask detailed questions as well as teach the new words. Part 2 Read John’s neighborhood carefully and choose T/F. 1. John usually shops in the supermarket near his home.

T/F Lead Ss to get a conclusion of the mind map——What,where,why and how. Teach the new words. Ask questions: What are the best things in life that are free? What other good things in life are free?

Part 3 Read Lisa’s neighborhood carefully and answer the questions. Q1:What is Lisa’s favorite place? Q2: Where is the place? Q3: Why does she like to go there?

Q4: How does she get there? Give Ss enough time to read carefully and answer the questions. Ask one more question: What other places are mentioned in Lisa’s neighborhood? What can you learn from Lisa? We should keep quiet in a noisy place, because it’s a good quality for us. Step 4 Read aloud These three neighborhoods are all very nice and beautiful. Let’s enjoy the beautiful words and sentences. Step 5 Retell We know that Anna, John and Lisa introduce their neighborhood neighborhood from four parts.(What/Where/Why/How). If you are one of them, try to retell the neighborhood with the help of the words and map.

Homework

You have to do: 1.Write a short passage about your neighborhood. If possible, draw a simple map. You may choose to do: 1.Do a survey about the names of roads and places around your school. Try to introduce your school neighborhood. Blackboard Design Unit2 Is there a post office near here? Reading
