It is raining！

一. Teaching aims

1. Knowledge objects:

Remember the words, and use the main sentence pattern: How is the weather? It is sunny/cloudy /windy /rainy/raining/snowy/snowing.

2. Ability objects:

a) The Ss can use the sentence pattern in different conditions, and further develop their language ability.

b) The Ss can express their thoughts.

3. Emotion objects:

a) By completing the task, the Ss develop their interests and set up self-confidence in language study;

b) Teach the Ss to care about the weather and life, put the moral education in the language study.

4. Strategy objects:

Prepare 3 tasks for the Ss, they are helpful to improve their listening \ reading \ speaking\ and writing ability.

二. Key points

First of all, study and use the sentence pattern “How is the weather? It is sunny/cloudy /windy /rainy/raining/snowy/snowing.” to improve the Ss’ language ability.

Secondly, teach the Ss how to study independently as well as by cooperation.

三. Difficult points

Make dialogues of describing weather and what you are doing.

四. Teaching Methods

1. Task-based teaching method

According to the task-based learning theories and cooperative learning theories, I adopt the methods in my teaching.

2. Scene

Offer the Ss an opportunity to complete the task. The activity reflects real life and learners focus on the meaning, they are free to use any language they want. It can develop the students’

interests in learning English.

Teaching Procedures

Step 1：（1）、Greetings between the teacher and the students（3 minutes）

A: What is this in English?

B: It is a book. (pen、desk---)

（2）、A duty report (值日生介绍自己、喜欢什么运动，在什么天气情况下进行运动，其他学生做笔记并互相提问，引出与天气和季节相关的情景。)

For example:

I am Qin Shuang. I am a middle school student. I am fourteen years old. I am in Class Ten. I am very fat. But I like sports. I like flying a kite in the wind. I like making a snowman in winter. It is very interesting and in summer I often go to Nandaihe. I like swimming with my parents and I like watching TV. My favorite program is Evening News. That is all. Thank you.

(Design intention: The students ask him some questions each other，in order to

improve their listening、speaking ability.)

Step 2：guessing a game finish 2C（2 minutes）

The teacher writes down some phrases on the paper ( read a book, play football, clean the blackboard, watch TV and so on ) One

of the students does some actions after she saw it. While doing the actions, the teacher asks “What is she doing? The students answer: She is reading a book/playing football…

Step 3:Finish 1a（3 minutes）

1. Give some pictures about some places. (Beijing Moscow Boston Toronto Shanghai) They have different weather.

2. Math the words with the pictures (a-e).

Step 4: Listening

（Finish 1b, 2a and 2b）（4 minutes）

Ask the students to listen to the recorder and complete the chart.

First listen to the tape, and then check the answers. Finish 1b, 2a and 2b.
