Teaching aims and demands：

1. knowledge aims：

1) To grasp the new words：blonde, mouth, round, face, eye, singer

2) To grasp how to describe a person’s appearance. 2. Emotion attitude：

To help the students how to describe a person’s appearance and help them know they can’t decide a person according to what he or she looks like. Important points and difficult points: How to help them describe a person in the right way. Teaching procedures: Ⅰ. Duty report 2 students give the class a duty report as usual.

Ⅱ. Revision

Revise the previous lesson. Show some pictues to revise how to describe a person’s height, build and hair by asking questions and talking freely. Ⅱ. Presentation

Learn the new words：blonde, mouth, round, face, eye, actor, actress (learn the words and draw parts of a girl ’s body step by step .) and also present the new drils. 2.

Learn drills: He/She has.... He/She wears... He/She looks... 3. Work on 1a: Match the words with the pictures. 4. Read and write these words about 2 minutes.

Ⅲ. Writing

1. Read the phrases in the box in 1b and show the pictures and let the students make sentences about famous people with the words.

e.g. Jackie Chen has a long face. 2. Fill in the blanks and check answers together. Ⅳ. Listening

Work on 1c:

Get the students to listen to the tape and find out what their jobs are. Check the answers with the whole class. Work on 1d:

Get the students to listen again and complete the chart in 1c. What do they look like? Check the answers with the whole class. Check the answers.

Ⅴ. Practice 1.

Chain work

Get the students to work in chains to describe what they look like by asking and answering the question “What do you look like?”and ask some groups to act out. 2.

Group work Get the students to work in groups. Get the students to interview their classmate about his or her favorite actor/ actress/singer or...looks like. And then one of them in their group gives the class a talk about their groupmates’favorite person. Before this, give them an example. And ask some groups to act out and give a report about that after they finish practicing. Tell the students not to forget to ask a question and let the rest students answer. Ⅵ. Conclusion

Write “Don’t judge aperson according to his or her looks.”on the blackboard. Ⅶ. Home work 1.
