Insects I Know 课型

第一课时

本课选自新世纪四年级教材Unit12,单元主题为Beautiful butterflies。本单元的核心板块为Farmland, Wonderland和Grand Theatre。Wonderland板块学习昆虫类词汇“ant, bee, dragonfly, ladybird, cockroach, butterfly”;

Farmland板块学习句型“…like to…”;Grand Theatre板块则对蝴蝶这一昆虫进行了具体的描述。

本单元的昆虫类词汇在新世纪教材2BU11和3AU5已学习过;“…like to…”的句型也曾出现过,之后在五年级也会出现“What does…like to do?”的问句学习。因此,基于教材板块、单元主题、语言材料和图片情境,重组三个板块,设计了三个课时:

Period1 Insects I Know讲述Sandy, Alice和Tom一起去参观昆虫世界的情景。

Period2 Knowing more about Insects 通过课后查阅资料以及课上交流互动,更加细致地描述昆虫的各个部位,昆虫这些部位的不同作用。

Period 3 My Favourite Insect以蝴蝶为例,学习如何表述自己最喜欢的昆虫。

本课是单元中的第一课时,创设的情景是Sandy, Alice和Tom一起去参观昆虫世界,主要围绕三个问题展开:What can they see in the Insect world? What do they think of these insects? What do the Insects like to do? 内容上通过层层推进的方法,先复习巩固已学昆虫类词汇,再描述昆虫外观,再描述昆虫喜欢做的事。在创设的语境中渗透了Farmland中的“…like to…”句型,主要是描述昆虫喜欢做的活动。预设的目标是让学生能够模仿三位小朋友的语段,简单描述所学昆虫的外观和习性。同时也能通过语境激发起学生探究昆虫知识的热情,这也为第二课时奠定了情感基础。

学情分析

教学对象是小学四年级第一学期学生,他们已经具备了基本的听说读写的能力,能在情境中运用所学单词、词组进行简单表达。对英语学习也有了较浓厚的兴趣。大部分学生有良好的倾听、表达、阅读、书写的英语学习习惯。但同时,他们年龄小,易兴奋、易疲劳,注意力也容易分散,不能35分钟全

程关注英语课堂。因此,本课创设了昆虫世界参观昆虫的情景,通过图片、儿歌、歌曲、小组朗读、男女对话、师生对话及表演等不同形式,激发学生学习英语的兴趣,并让学生在模仿中争取再创造。

另外,本课的昆虫类单词在以前的学习过程中有所接触,但相隔时间太久,部分学生有所遗忘。这节课在巩固所学知识的基础上,简单描述昆虫的外貌特征。“…like to…”句型在本教材中前面的单元中出现过,所以学生也能初步感知并听懂句型“I like to…”。

教学目标

1.知识与技能

(1)能听懂、理解、拼读本单元核心词汇ant, bee, dragonfly, ladybird, cockroach, butterfly,关注核心词汇音、形、义之间的联系。

(2)在语境中,能用本单元核心句型“…like to…”描述昆虫的活动。

(3)模仿所给语段,简单描述所学昆虫

2.过程与方法

(1)通过Sandy, Alice和Tom 去昆虫世界了解昆虫的语境创设,来学习本节课核心词汇和核心句型。

(2)通过图片、儿歌、歌曲、实物表演等方式,来巩固本节课核心词汇与句型,同时激发学生的学习兴趣,提高课堂效率。

3.情感与体验

(1)能通过语境激发探究昆虫知识的兴趣,为下一课时奠定情感基础。
