一、教学目标：

1. 语言知识目标：

1) 能掌握以下单词：

newspaper, use, soup, wash, movie, just

能掌握以下句型：

2. 情感态度价值观目标：

通过对本单元的学习活动，能培养培养学生学习英语的强烈兴趣，善于发现生活中正在发生的事情，积极思考，乐于助人，乐于参加各种活动的积极情感，培养学生团结合作的精神。

二、教学重难点

1. 教学重点：

1) 词汇、词组搭配和现在进行时的用法。能用现在进行时的各种形式进行准确的描述和表达正在发生的动作。

2) 能掌握现在进行时态及一些表示具体动作的词组搭配,如: doing homework, using the computer, watching TV, eating dinner…

等

2. 教学难点：

现在进行时中现在分词的结构及读音，能在交际中准确地运用现在进行时来描述或表达正在进行的动作。

三、教学过程

Step 1. Teaching new words and phrases.

Show students some pictures and help them learn the new words and phrases: newspaper、read the newspaper、use 、use the computer、soup、make soup、wash 、wash the dishes、movie、go to the movies、just、eat out . Step 2.Work on 1a.

This activity introduces the key vocabulary. 1. Focus attention on the pictures. Ask students to tell what they see. Name each activity and ask students to repeat: watching TV, cleaning, reading a newspaper ,

talking on the phone, listening to a CD, using the computer , making soup , washing the dishes, exercising. 2. Then ask students to match each activity with one of the pictures. Say, Write the letter of each activity next to the words. Point out the sample answer. 3. Check the answers. Step 3. Presentation. Ask students to say out the present progressive forms of the words and phrases.

If he/she can say it correctly, the other students will repeat after him/her. Step 4.Presentation

1. T: Please look at this photo. A girl is cleaning. Who is she?

Ss: She is LiuQiyue.

T: Hi, LiuQiyue, what are you doing? LiuQiyue: I’m cleaning. T: (Point at the photo)What’s she doing? Who can answer my question? S1: She is cleaning .

2. T: Look at this photo. Read after me for three times : cleaning

Ss:. Cleaning(three times)

T: What’s she doing?

Ss: She’s cleaning.

T: You ask and I answer.

Ss: What’s she doing?

T: She’s cleaning. Now boys ask and girls answer.

Boys: What’s she doing?

Girls: She’s cleaning.

. Step 5. Listening Work on 1b.

This activity gives students practice in understanding the target language in spoken conversation. 1. T: What are Jenny, John, Dave and Mary doing? Now let’s listen to the tape, find out the right activities from 1a.

2. Play the recording for the Ss twice. 3. Ss listen to the recording and write the numbers from 1a.

. Step 6. Work in pairs. 1.Ask and answer questions about the pictures in pairs.

(1) S1:What’s she doing?

S2: She’s reading a newspaper. What’s he doing?

S1: He’s listening to a CD. (2) S3: What’s he doing?

S4: He’s using the computer . What’s she doing?

S3: She’s talking on the phone.

. 2.Please come to the front, ask and answer questions each other. S5:What’s she doing?

3.You can ask any other student questions one by one.

Step 7. GAME ONE. 1.T: Now let's play a game: “Who has good eyesight?” Students must watch the big screen carefully. (Show some pictures on the big screen quickly) Let Ss guess: What's he/she doing? What are they doing? 2. Ss watch and say the actions.

3. Ask and answer questions about the pictures.

Step 8. GAME TWO

T: Now let's play a guessing game. Look at the picture and guess : What’s he doing?

S1: Is he dancing? T: No.(show the next picture to the students) S1: Oh, he’s eating dinner. T: (show another picture)What’s he doing?

S2: Is he thinking? T: No. S3: Is he swimming? T: No. S4: Is he making soup? T: No. (show the next picture)What’s he doing? S: He is running. T: (show another picture)What are they doing?

Step 9. Listening

1. Work on 2a;

T: Jack and Steve are talking on the phone. What are they doing now? Listen to the conversations and match the answers with the questions.

(Play the recording for the first time, students only listen carefully. Then, listen to the recording again, and match the answers with the questions. ) Check the answers.

2. Work on 2b.

Let Ss read the conversation in 2b first. Then play the recording for the Ss twice.

The first time Ss only listen and write down the words in the blanks. Then play the recording again for the Ss to check the answers. Step 10. Pair work (2c)

1. Now, role-play the conversation in 2b with your partners. 2. Let some pairs act out the conversation in front of the class.

Step 11. Work on 2d.

1. Read the conversation in 2d and match.

2. Read the conversation in 2d again and answer the questions below. ①

我是詹妮。

这是打电话用语。打电话介绍自己时用“This is…”或“It’s…”; 询问对方用“Is that…?”或“Who’s that?”。例如：

2) Not much.

（口语）没什么大事。也可说成Nothing much, 表示自己有

空。

例如：

A: What are you doing, Linda?

你在做什么事，琳达？

B: Not (Nothing) much. I’m just reading a book.

没什么事。我在读一本书。

3). Do you want to join me for dinner?

你想和我一起吃饭吗？

join somebody for something表示“与某人一起做某事; 参与或加入到某人的行列中一起做某事”。例如：

Do you want to join us for a cup of coffee?

你想跟我们一起喝杯咖啡吗？

4).I'd love to. 我很乐意。

交际用语，用于礼貌地接受他人邀请，还可以说成I’d like to, 但语气比较弱。当委婉拒绝他人邀请时，多用I’d

love to, but...或Sorry, I’m afraid I can't ,because...等。

Step 12.Grammar: 动词现在分词的构成规律：

①一般情况下，直接在动词后加-ing。如：work—working；do—doing；play—playing。

②以不发音的e结尾的动词，先去e，再加-ing。如：dance—dancing；come—coming。

③重读闭音节单词，末尾只有一个辅音字母的，双写末尾的辅音字母，再加-ing。如：get—getting；stop—stopping；run—running；swim—swimming；cut—cutting。
