I. Teaching Objectives：

1. Knowledge Objectives: ①Ss can understand and read the new words：pet, rabbit, basket, cage, hold. ② Ss can use the sentences fluently: Can I have a …? Yes, you can. /No, you can’t.

2. Competence Objectives：They are able to use “Can I have a …? Yes, you can. /No, you can’t.” to have a dialogue and express their will. 3.Emotional Objectives: They can express their will politely. II .Teaching Key Points and Difficulties:

1. Key words: pet, rabbit, basket, cage, hold. Target language points: Ss can use “Can I have a …? Yes, you can./No, you can’t.” to express what they can or can not do something.

2. Difficulties：①Ss can make a distinction between “Yes, I can.” and “No, I can’t.”

② Ss can understand and read “lovely” and use “Can I hold it ?” to ask others. III .Teaching Aids：

Word cards, animal drawings and the multi-media. IV .Teaching Procedures：

Step 1 Warming up and lead in (1′30″) 1.Greetings. 2.Sing an English song: Bingo! Step 2 Presentation (12′ ) 1.Students see the video of “Pet Animals”. After seeing it, they tell T what animals they see in it.(A dog, a cat, a rabbit and a parrot.) 2.Show a picture of a rabbit and use phonics to teach “rabbit”. Q: How

do you think of the rabbit?(It’s lovely.) Use the same method to teach lovely. 3.Summary and teach “pet: “Dogs, cats, rabbits, and parrots are all pets.”

4.Present a context: “Let’s go to a pet shop today. ”Show the above pet pictures to teach the new sentences: Can I have a pet? Yes, you can. / No, you can’t. T and several students have a dialogue.

5.T gives an example of a rabbit and teach “hold”. “Can I hold it ? Sure.”

6.“ The rabbit wants a home. Look! It’s a basket. It’s a cage.(show two pictures) Can I have a basket ?” (No, you can’t.) Work in pairs: Ss ask and answer in pairs with some pictures. Step 3 Practice(10′) 1.Let’s chant. Pet, pet, pet, can I have a pet ? Yes, yes, yes , yes ,you can.

Step 4 Consolidation (10′)

Group work: Paste some pet pictures on the blackboard. Ss use the given sentences to have a conversation. Step 5 Extension(30″) Pets are so lovely! If you want them, express your will politely! Step 6 Homework (30″) 1. Read Part A three times. （朗读A部分三遍。）

教学反思：

本堂课从五年级学生的兴趣着手，从单词的音、形、义各个方面呈现教学内容，帮助学生理解其含义；以任务教学法和小组合作的形式，创设真实的语言情境，让学生用简单的英语来表达自己的意愿。不足之处在于，第一，单词操练较少，导致学生对单词不熟悉，而对句型比较熟悉。第二，对于学生比较陌生的语言材料，应该做到给学生大量的输入，再让学生进行输出。第三，评价用语不太具有典型性，对于学生的表现很难做到比较恰当的点评。今后，我将扬长避短，争取更大的进步。
