一．教材分析

单元分析及教材处理

人教版七年级下册第五单元的话题是动物园里的动物。通过本单元的学习让学生掌握重点句型

“Why do you like...？”“

Because they are ....”，并学会运用本单元所学的词汇和句型描述动物、表达个人的喜好，同时培养学生热爱自然、保护动物的意识。

Section B部分的教学重点是巩固why引导的特殊疑问句及其回答，并2a-2c的阅读教学中对学生进行阅读技能培养。教学难点是让学生把关于动物喜好原因的口语化表达转化为描述性的语言，完成笔头输出。

Section B部分主要学习内容是：让学生通过解读图片，选择与动物的动作表情匹配的描述性形容词，使学生更直观地领会词汇含义，再通过听训练学生捕捉描述性形容词，然后通过结对操练使学生学会在真实情景中运用描述性形容词。2a-2c则转向了对“濒危动物”的关注, 2a通过调查学生对濒危动物的了解引出保护濒危动物“大象”的语篇阅读。这样选材旨在培养学生的动物保护意识和人才素养。2b活动让学生进行整体阅读并选择最佳标题，意在培养学生快速阅读和归纳语篇中心的能力；2c渗透了构建思维导图阅读策略养，帮助学生将抽象的零碎信息分类整理成与主体密切相关、又相对独立的块状知识。这不仅有助于学生深入理解语篇，抓住重要信息，而且能够增强学生的思维能力，提升注意力与记忆力，启发联想力和创造力。

三、教学过程：

Step 1: Warming-up and lead in (1)

Play a guessing game to introduce the topic “ elephant”, then play a video to let students know more about the elephants in Thailand. (2)

Show some pictures to provide some information of this passage: flag of Thailand, Thai elephant day, a symbol of good luck Step 2: Fast reading

(1)Read the whole passage and check the best title for it. (2)Read the article for second time . Then find out the topic sentences. (the teacher gives some advice for finding topic sentences Step 3: Careful reading

Read paragraph 1 and then tell T or F. (2)

Play a video to see what elephants can do, then fill in the blanks. (3)

Read paragraph 2 and fill in the blanks on ppt. (4)

Ask students to find the figures in paragraph 3. Then answer two questions: Q1: Why are elephants in danger? Q2: How can we save them? (5)

Read the article again and complete the mind map in 2c. Step 4: Post reading

Show some pictures of endangered animals to raise their awareness of protecting animals.

Step 5: Homework Write a short passage about an endangered animal and talk about the ways to protect them. (no more than 60 words)

四：教学反思以及改进方法

因为初一的孩子英语积累不够，害怕孩子们难以理解全英文的课堂，所以一些常用的课堂指令语会重复地翻译成中文告诉他们，现在回想起来，虽然说中文是为了促进孩子的理解，但是也失去了英语课堂说英语的氛围。这种困境是可以解决的，平时的课堂就应该慢慢培养孩子理解英语课堂指令语的能力，有时候也可以借助一定的肢体语言促进他们的理解。

在板书设计上，abilities 这个词对于学生来说是生词，可以用孩子们认识的其他词代替比如smart elephant，加深他们对课文的理解。

因为对录播课教室不熟悉，在播放幻灯片和小视频时，出现了一些小故障。因此每次上课时应该提前候课，检查视频和课件能否在多媒体上正常播放。
