本节课授课对象为七年级学生，他们的心理和生理特点是好动、好奇、好表现。抓住这一心理特点，积极采用形象生动、形式多样的教学方法和学生广泛的、积极主动参与的学习方式，就一定能激发学生的学习兴趣；另外，他们好动、注意力易分散、爱表现自己，希望得到老师的表扬。抓住这一特点，一方面要运用直观生动的形象，引发学生的兴趣，使他们的注意力始终集中在课堂上;另一方面要创造条件和机会，让学生有机会表现自己，享受成功的喜悦，从而增强他们对英语学习的自信心，在学习过程中发展综合语言应用能力。

一．本单元的教材分析：

本单元的核心话题是描述动物和表达个人喜好，以及句式why do you like…？Because…。这也是本单元的教学重点。本单元以动物为主线，围绕着谈论喜欢与不喜欢以及积极倡导人们保护动物等语言功能项目展开了一系列任务活动。通过本单元的学习，学生应能较流利地运用所学词汇和句型描述动物，表达个人喜好。教材内容从基本语言知识到语言综合运用层层递进，听说读写依次展开，遵循循序渐进的原则，引导学生在具体情景中有目的地学习语言。

二．本课时的教材分析：

本课时主要学习动物名称以及对它们进行描述的形容词，所呈现的是与谈论喜好与厌恶相关的基本语言知识及其初步运用。这部分内容从呈现动物词汇开始，通过视、听等方式输入信息，并引出本单元主要句型：Why do you like…？
