Unit6 Shopping for a School Party
( Reading and Writing)

I. Learning Aims
After this class, the students will be able to: 1.
Know the general idea of the text and get the key information from the text. Enhance students’ understanding and analysis of text, promote the development of students’ thinking; 2.
Know how to express requests; 3.
Talk about and compare the price of things in daily life.
II. Teaching Focus and Difficulty 1.
Focus (1) Getting to know the main ideas of the text.
(2) Knowing how to express requests. 2.
Difficulty (1)
Getting to retell the text according to the mind map; (2)
Getting to write a conversation between the customer and the clerk.
III. Learning Procedure Step1: Warm up and review
1.
Warm up: Sing a song “How much is that box?”
2.
Game: Sharp eyes. 3.
Ask and answer about shopping. Step2: Pre-reading 1.
Read the three pictures of the text on page 70, and guess what happened? 2. Teacher and individual student write some key information on the blackboard. Step3: While-reading 1. Knowing the main ideas of the text. (1) Read the text while listen to the recording. (2) Write more key information and draw a mind map on the blackboard. (3) Read the text again, finish the second exercise on page71. 2. Know more details about the text. (1) Read and underline the words and sentences you can’t understand.
(2) Read and learn some words and sentences. Such as “well”, “take”, “have to”, “pay for”, “parents”, “in the end”.
(3) Students make sentences with“please”. 3. Listen and read the text correctly. 4. Read the conversation in group. 5. Role play. Step4: Post-reading 1. Retell the conversation according to the mind map.
2.Speaking:
(1) Model: Watch the video and repeat. (2) Speaking: Make a conversation.
