Teaching procedures 1.Warm-up Sing a song: Our scool 2.Pre-reading 1)

Ask students:Do you like your school? Do you have a library/playground/art room...? 2)

Let’s go to the hippo’s school together!

3.While-reading 1）Show the questions:”Who are in the video?””Where are they?” And the students watch the video first time then answer the two questions. 2）Show the picture of hippo and learn to read “hippo”

with natural phonics.

Show the new words and let the students to watch the video by the second time.Ask students to express the meaning of ”gym,hungry,full”

Watch the video for the third time and read aloud after it.

In this part,the story will be showed in detail from one to six, students have to be able to answer questions:Is that the lunch room/music room...?with answer”Yes,it is./No, it isn’t. 5)

The translator time.Students translate the story contents by themselves,and then ask to show their anwers and the teacher rectify. 6)

Watch the video for the fourth time and read aloud after it.And then encourage the students to imitate. 7)

Pair work:Act out the dialogue in pairs. 1)

Role-play with the animal headdresses. 3.Post-reading 1)

Use more space words to make dialogues.T:Where’s the fan?
