2). People started to wear clothes so that they could protect themselves from the sun, wind, rain and cold.

人们开始穿上衣服，是为了免受日晒、风吹、雨淋和寒冷的侵袭。

so that“以便，为的是”在此引导目的状语从句

3). But，nowadays，clothes do more than just keep us warm. 但是现在服装已经不仅仅是保暖了。

more than 意为“多过，不止”，放在名词、动词、形容词、副词及从句前。

如：Being a good listener means much more than just “listening with ears”.

做一名好的倾听者，绝不只是“用耳朵听”。

根据老师的预设，对学生常见错误和重难点进行点拨。

1）在so

…

that

…结构中，so是副词，与形容词或副词连用，其结构是so+adj / adv.+ that从句。如，she worked so hard that she made great progress.

2）So that 可引导结果状语从句，意思是“因此，所以”,表示主句动作所导致的结果。

3) such that结构中such是形容词，后跟可数名词和不可数名词。

She is such an honest girl that everyone likes her.

她是一个诚实的孩子，大家都喜欢她。

②such+adj+复数可数名词+that从句。

He had such long arms that he could almost touch the ceiling. 他的胳膊很长，几乎能碰到天花板了。

③such+adj+不可数名词+that从句

It was such bad weather that we had to stay at home. 如此坏的天气，我们不得不呆在家里。
