T: Good morning, boys and girls. In this class, we’re going to learn how to write a composition about travel experiences. T: What’s the weather like today?

What’s your favorite season? Why do you like it? T: last summer vacation, I went to a beautiful place. It lies in the northwest of China. It’s famous for a beautiful lake. Can you guess where it is? Then show some pictures of Qinghai. Step 2 Pre-writing 1.

Show students some pictures about my travel to Qinghai.(Tip 1) 2.

Show students my letter.(Tip 2) 3.

Modify the letter and show it to students.(Tip 3, Tip 4) 4.

Recall the four tips together, and then add one more: Tip 5 Step 3 while-writing 1.

Read the letter from Bill. 2.

Reflection after teaching: This class is about writing a composition about travel experiences. Some students are afraid of writing. Some students don’t know what to write. So before writing, it’s necessary for me to give them an example. Discussing in groups and working together to write the letter can help to reduce the difficulty. It can also help them learn teamwork. The inadequacy of this lesson is that some students are used to discussing in Chinese, not English. It would be better if I emphasize this point before writing.
