Period One

Step 1. Warming Up 1.

Greet with the students and free talk. 2.

Ask and answer: What’s the weather like today?/ Is cloudy today?...

Step 2. Presentation 1.

a. Show a picture of ice-skating, ask the SS: Do you like ice-skating? (Ss:Yes!)

b. Then ask Ss: When can we go ice-skating? (T helps the Ss to answer: We can go in winter.) c. Present “We can go ice-skating in winter holiday.” then teach the phrase “winter holiday”.

d. Then ask “When’s winter holiday?”

(Ss: It’s in January or February.) Teach the words “January”

and “February”. 2. Ask “When’s January?”

Help the Ss answer: January is before February. Teach the word: “before”. Practice with the other months. Teach the new months. 3. Present the sentence pattern: “Is January after February?”

Help the Ss answer: No, January is before February. Teach the word: “after”. 4. Practice the question and the answer with the students. Then do pair work. 5. Ask the question with the other months. First ask and answer with the Ss, then make them pair work. 6. Read the months after the teacher and then read together.

Play a game: Guessing game & fast flash. 2.

Ask and answer quickly. 4.

Pair work: When’s your birthday? -My birthday is in __________./ It’s in __________.
