在英语教学和学习中，阅读一直占据着相当重要的地位。阅读不仅能帮助学生获取信息、开阔视野、丰富语言文化知识，还能促进听、说、写等其他语言能力积极地发展；而且，阅读在培养学生的思维能力、分析能力和理解能力等方面有着不可替代的作用。
