Open Day
Learning objectives: 1.
Through the study of the dialogue, students can learn the following new words: meet, school gate , art room, hall, meeting room, finally. Then they can make their own plans for the open day. 2.
Students can describe the order of some things with the words: First…Next…Then…After that…Finally…. 3.
Students are unafraid to speak English, they can introduce their school freely. 4.
Encourage students to cherish and enjoy our school life. Learning difficult and important points:
1.
Students learn the new words well: meet, school gate , art room, hall, meeting room, finally. 2.
They can describe the order of some things freely with the words: First…Next…Then…After that…Finally…. Learning steps: Step1: Warm up and lead in: 1.
Listen to an English song : School Days. 2.
Teacher shows some places of their own school, ask students to say them out as quickly as possible. (设计意图:激活旧知,复习他们以前学过的关于学校设施的词汇,为学习本课做准备。)

T: Our school is so beautiful. How is our school life? S1: It’s happy. S2: It’s fun.
S2: It’s colorful. T: Yes. Our school life is so colorful. This class , we will learn Open Day---a special day of our school life. In fact, our school will have an Open Day next month. Step2: Learn the dialogue. 1. Listen and learn. a.
Teacher shows the picture on the page46, asks students to listen and tick the places they hear. b.
Learn the new words: meeting room: meet---meeting ---meeting room. school gate----door. ( Have a comparative study.) hall: all—hall. A big room, we can have parties here. art room: art, we have art classes in the room. Students write the words according to teacher’s indication.

Read and guess. Teacher shows the description, students try to read and speak out the words as quickly as possible. (设计意图:利用多种方式科学地学习单词,进而操练,避免重复枯燥)

Who will come to their school? Now please listen to the part 1, and try to fill the blanks on your paper. Then check the answers. 3.
The part 2. a.
What will they do at school? Let’s watch the video and number the places they visit in order. b.
Try to describe their route with the words: First…Next…Then…After that…Finally…. T: Where will they visit first/next/then/after that/finally? Ss: They will …. (设计意图:分层学习,降低难度。) Step3: Practice
