二、Teaching steps 1. Lead-in Show the pictures of the butterfly and caterpillar.

Look! What’s this?

It’s a caterpillar. Do you like it?

Look! What’s this?

It’s a butterfly. Is it beautiful?

They talk about the caterpillar and butterfly. How and why they like them?

2. Now let’s listen to the story.

What did you hear?

I heard … ( leaf, leaves, chrysalis, …) How can a caterpillar turn into a butterfly? A caterpillar turns into a chrysalis, and then the chrysalis turns into a butterfly.

3. One day, Kipper found a caterpillar. Could Kipper’s caterpillar turn into a butterfly? Let’s read the story.

Ask questions and think over.

The children were playing outside. “Look here,” Kipper said.

Kipper had a caterpillar. (Picture 2)

Kipper took the caterpillar to the class. Kipper put the caterpillar in a box. – where is the caterpillar.

Look at the wall. What was the date?

It was May 4th. (Picture 3)

Kipper put leaves in the box.

The children also put leaves in the box. The caterpillar liked leaves. (Picture 4)

Look at the box. Can you see the caterpillar?

No. Then it was not a caterpillar. (Picture 5)

What was it?

It was a chrysalis.

Look at the date. What date was it?

It was June 8th.

After a few days, the teacher showed the box to everyone.

“Can we see the chrysalis?” asked Kipper. No. It was not a chrysalis.

What was it? (Picture 7)

It was a butterfly.
