My First Chinese New Year Teaching aims:

1.

Understand the story. 2.

Learn how to get the key information and predict the name and the plots of the story. 3.

Cooperate in a team well to finish the reading tasks. 4.

Know more about the Chinese traditional festivals as a Chinese. Teaching procedures: Step 1: Revision 1.

Look and say the dates.

(设计目的：复习日期表达。）

Look and think what festivals by looking at the dates. (设计目的：在复习完日期的表达基础上，引出相关节日，激发学生思考。）

Step 2: Pre-reading 1.

Look at the cover of the book and say what they can see 设计意图：

了解封面，初步了解故事内容

Guess what festival it is 设计意图：

通过观察封面猜猜书本封面讲的是哪个节日

Predict the title and the content of the story 设计意图：

通过节日猜猜书名

4.

Read the parts of the story and finish the exercise

设计意图：由于故事比较长，如果学生一起阅读，占用的时间将会很多，为了提高学生的阅读速度和质量，将故事分成三块，节前，除夕，过节期间让不同的学生了解春节先关信息。）

Expert-reading to check the answer and resolve the difficulties （设计意图：

通过专家阅读，让拿到同一篇故事的学生一起学习，解决故事中难点，通过小组合作提高阅读理解能力）

Check the answer together （设计意图：

检查阅读答案，也让其它小组的学生理解其它的故事）

7.

Read the whole story together with the teacher （设计意图：在老师的带领下一起阅读精美的绘本，整体理解故事内容）

8.

Jig-saw reading and finish the exercise in a group. （设计意图：

拼块阅读，通过小组合作将不同板块的阅读故事拼接一起，再次阅读绘本，并通过完成练习，形成一个字“圆”。

Step 3: Post-reading 1.

Watch the video and understand the meaning of the Chinese Spring Festival. （设计意图：观看视频，感受春节背后的意义）

Choose their favorite parts of the story and share the reasons. （设计意图：选择自己喜欢的故事板块并说出原因，检查学生的输出）

3.

Learn more about Chinese traditional festivals

（设计意图：了解更多关于中国传统节日）

4.

Talk about their favorite festivals in groups （设计意图：小组讨论自己喜欢的节日，学习更多的节日表达）
