Lead in

Greetings T: Good morning, boys and girls.Hello, this is me. My name is Chen Shanshan. I like May Day. I am going to go camping with my friends during the vacation. Also, I’m going to meet some friends, too. Let’s be friends together. Hello,what’s your name? Ss: My name is XXX. T: Nice to meet you. What’s your favorite vacation? Ss: My favorite vacation is ( May Day). T: What are you going to do during the vacation? Ss: I’m going to ... T:But what about Jenny and Gogo? Next week is a vacation. What are they going to do during the vacation? (T writes “ Next week is a vacation.” on the Bb.)

Let’s guess T: Look at the four pictures, guess，what are they going to do during the vacation? Now, group discussion.Four people in a group and share your idea. Go, go,go! OK, times up. Who wants to try?

S1: They are going to play a game.

S2: They are going to Bejing.

S3: They are going to have a picnic.

S4: They are going to go camping... 2. Watch the first time.

T: You guys have a good imagination. Great! Let’s watch the video and find what are they going to do. Ok, let’s watch! So, what is Jenny going to do during the vacation?

Ss: Jenny is going to play a game with friends. T: Jenny is going to play a game with friends.Ss: Jenny is going to have a picnic.

T: Great! Look at the picture. They are having a picnic. They are having a picnic, too. She is going to have a picnic.

T: What about Gogo? Ss:Gogo is going to see the Great Wall of China.

T:This is a view of the Great Wall of China. Is it beautiful? Any idea?

Ss:Gogo is going to do tai chi. T:Yes, Gogo is going to do tai chi,too. Well done. Do you know how to do tai chi? Cool! Sit down, please. 1 point. The whole class follow me, let’s do tai chi together. First, breathe, relax, and then hands to left.

(T writes the mind map on the Bb while Ss are sharing the answers.)

3. Watch again and judge. T: Let’s watch again and judge. Everyone takes out your paper, try to judge True or False. ( T plays the video again)

T:Now, I’ll give you 1min to check your answers with your partners, go! No.1, who wants to try? You please.

T: Why?

S: Not this week. Next week is a vacation. T:Good job. Look at the calendar. From Sunday to Saturday, it means this week. And the red one, next week. So, it is false.

T: What about No.2?

S: T T: Gogo is going to see the Great Wall. And the Great Wall is in Beijing. So, Gogo is going to Beijing. Very good, move on.

T: Gogo is going to do tai chi on the picnic, True or False?

Retell the story

First, T leads Ss to retell the story. Then, Ss retell again in their group and show in the whole class.

T: Now, according to the mind map, let’s retell together. T: Good job. This time, in your group, try to retell again. Go! 5. Listen and repeat

T: Wow, you did a great job, now, let’s listen to the tape and repeat. Try to read it loudly as possible as you can,OK?

T: Are they going to have fun?

Ss:Yes.

T: Because Jenny and Gogo have a good vacation plan, so I think they are going to have fun.

视频的再次播放让学生进行判断对错，思维梯度逐渐提高，从微观上帮助学生整理细节，强化故事内容。

根据思维导图复述故事使学生先统领故事大意，然后再通过跟读录音训练学生的语音语调。

角色扮演让学生充分融入角色，在理解故事和掌握语音的基础上模仿语气、情绪。

Extension Role play

First, T leads the whole class to role play. Then, four people in a group and role play the story. T gives 3mins to Ss to prepare. Later, T picks up one or two groups to show. T: Let’s act like Gogo and Jenny. Maybe we are going to have fun, too. These two groups, you are Gogo. And other two groups are Jenny, I am teacher, OK? First, whole class read the first sentence: Jenny and Gogo are talking about their vacation... T: Excellent! Now, role play in your group. Two people are Jenny, and two are Gogo.

从故事中Jenny和Gogo的假期延伸到制作假期计划，先通过微课向学生示范老师的假期计划，同时提醒计划四要素: “Where to go/Who go with/How to go/What to do”，锻炼学生口语与写作。

T: So, these are Jenny and Gogo’s vacation plans. Do you want to know my plan? Let’s watch.

T: May Day is coming. I am going to make a plan. Where am I going? I am going to Hong Kong. Because I want to go shopping. Who am I going with? I am going with my friends. And we are going with our friends. How are we going? We are going by ship. What are we going to do? We are going to eat tasty food, take photos and shop for clothes. We will be very happy. So, this is my vacation plan. What about your vacation plan? Now, discuss with your partner and try to make your group plan. You can choose the places and design where to go, who go with, how to go and what to do. You can go to Beijing to eat Beijing roast duck and visit Beijing University.
