教材通过问答让学生学习有关动物的单词giraffe, snake, elephant, zebra ；掌握句型What are they? They are…通过创设动物园和玩具店的情景，引导学生对动物玩具的挑选与购买；并通过猜谜的游戏让学生进一步了解动物的特征与喜好，能用新句型

They have…描述动物的特征。教材还期望通过对话、猜谜、儿歌、表演的形式，以及新旧知识的整合，为学生创设更多使用英语的情境，提高学生口语表达能力与英语阅读能力。

二、单元教学目标：

1、能认读动物有关的词语：如giraffe，zebra，elephant，snake。

2、能用“What are they？They are...”准确说出动物并进行问答。

3、能用所学过的句型描述出动物的特征。

4、培养学生热爱小动物的情感。

并能用They have...简单描述身边的物品。

通过in the toy shop的语境创设，提升学生阅读乐趣。

四、教学设计说明：

本课为M2U3 Animals I like第一课时，全课通过去动物园游玩并争当小导游的过程中让学生掌握野生动物类词汇：giraffe，snake, elephant, zebra，并且掌握句型：What are they? They are ….其中elephant,和zebra是以前学习中出现过的，在本课中以复现为主，达到复习整合引出重点句型的目的。另外两个：snake, giraffe作为新授单词，考虑到发音比较难，在教学时尤其要注意学生的语音语调。同时利用儿歌、游戏、问答的形式并通过情景创设，引导学生用What are they? They are …

来正确表述自己在游戏中看见的动物。

通过游览时听到大象声音，询问有关大象的问题，引导学生可以描述出有关大象的相关特征。并通过chant激发学生主动说的兴趣。

通过让学生猜图片中的动物引出长颈鹿，并通过两人小组讨论，询问有关长颈鹿的相关特征了解长颈鹿。并在最后让学生自己编唱chant增添了课堂趣味性。

通过贪吃蛇游戏引出snake，由chant既引起学生兴趣又巩固了句型。

1.将动物与其特征相连接。

2.自己编个新的谜语并给其他学生猜

3.以小组为单位参观班级里的动物展馆，并推选一人为导游进行讲解。

4.许下保护小动物的诺言。
