Unit5 Feelings Excited Topic2 I’m feeling better now.SectionA Lesson Plan Section A is the first period in the second topic in Unit5.It mainly talks about the reasons for different emotions.The main activities are 1a and 2. By talking about Li Hong’s feeling, the converstion presents the adverbial clause of reason. II.The Analysis of the Students The students of this class are from Class 10 Grade 8.They’re eager to learn English well and they’re also active in class. And their English is above the average level in our school. Our school is about the average level in Xianning. III.The Analysis of Teaching objectives 1.Knowledge aims： (1)The students can master some new words and expressions,such as exam, strict, shy, be strict with,do badly/well in，take it easy. (2)The students can use the adverbial clauses of reasons correctly. 2.Difficult points： The students can master adjectives that describe emotions and use “because”to tell the reasons.

The students of the best performing group in this class can get it. Purpose: It can improve the students’ interests. Stage2 Pre-listening ⑴Free talk: How do you feel?/How does he/she look? ⑵The teacher shows some pictures, then students match the expressions about feelings with those pictures. ⑶The teacher talks about Picture 1 with a similar conversation, then the students make new conversations to tell why they have those feelings just like this. Purpose:①Review the usage of the structure “V+P”②Introduce the topic of this class-the emotional discussion.③Understand and practice the adverbial clause of reason through pictures. Stage3 While-listening ⑴The teacher show some pictures about Li Hong to students, then students learn the new word “shy”. ⑵The teacher shows a picture that Li Hong is crying and lead students guess “What’s the matter with her?”, then listen to 1a and answer:①How does Helen look?②How does Li Hong feel? ⑶Students listen to 1a for the second time and complete the table in 1b. ⑷Students listen to 1a for the third time and read after it. Purpose:①The students can develop their abilities of listening and predicting.②The students can pay more attention to their pronunciation and intonation by imitaing. Stage4 Post-listening ⑴Students practice reading 1a in different ways: first together, then in

groups, and finally in pairs. ⑵Students master the important words and phrases through pictures and games. ⑶Students make up new conversations about themselves or their friends in pairs just like 1a, Then act it out in class. ⑷Students give some advice to help Li Hong, then finish 3. Purpose: ①The students can understand and apply the adverbial clauses of reasons better. ②They will be more confident about learning and using English. ③The students can learn to pay attention to others' emotions and provide reasonable and effective advice when others are disappointed, then help their partners to get rid of negative emotions. ④Students can learn from each other through teamwork and competition.
