1、教材分析

本课是Oxford English七年级下册第四单元Save the trees的More Practice，为最后一个课时，介绍了亚马逊雨林的概况。由于本课的篇章阅读理解对学生来说难度不大，所以本节课在理解文章内容的基础上，对本单元的话题进行拓展和延伸。学生通过这节课的学习，能够在了解森林对人类的重要贡献之后，反思人类对森林所做的破坏，意识到“we cannot live without trees”，从而发自内心地想要保护树木，制定出小组的绿色保护行动计划。

2、教学目标

（1）语言知识：

认读和理解单词cover, basin, spread, destroy, area, decrease, deforestation以及短语as a result, the number of；

（2）语言技能：

学会听前预测，巩固在听力过程中记笔记的能力，获取文章的大意；

通过找读关键信息，完成归纳、猜测词义等练习，进一步加深对文章的理解；

通过小组讨论和合作的活动形式提高学生的口头表达能力。

（3）情感态度：

通过了解亚马逊雨林的作用，加深学生对森林重要性的认识，从激发学生热爱自然的情感，培养学生保护树木，爱护森林的意识；

通过讨论活动和小组合作，让学生归纳总结出树木更多的重要性，加强自主学习、合作学习的能力。

3、教学重点和难点

教学重点：巩固扫读、根据上下文猜测词义的阅读技巧，以及听前预测的听力技能。

教学难点：

结合本单元Reading学到的知识，通过图片的讨论总结砍伐树木带来的危害。

通过小组合作，有效组织词汇和语法，制定“小组环保计划”。

4、教学设计思路

由于本课是对前面所学知识的延伸，所以一开始就进行“What do you know about trees”的讨论，对本单元Reading的内容进行一个归纳和总结，从而引入More Practice板块的篇章。由于文章内容比较简单，所以先要求学生通过听取信息来获取有关亚马逊雨林的主要信息。在此基础上，再让学生阅读文章内容，通过完成answer the questions和match the new words with their meaning的练习，培养阅读微技能。在熟悉的课文内容之后，通过展示森林面积衰退的图表，展开进一步的思考和讨论，“What do people do to destroy trees?”，“What will happen if there are no trees in the future? ”，给学生足够的时间和机会去陈述的观点，锻炼口语表达能力。最后，通过小组合作，制定绿色环保计划，表达保护环境的决心。
