Lesson Plan I. The Analysis of the Teaching Material 1.1. The Status and Function: Unit 7 Topic 2 Section B continues to talk about the food festival, and the Ss will know how to make a sandwich and learn the comparative and superlative degrees of the adverbs. Meanwhile, their ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing in English will also be improved.

1.2. Teaching objectives and demands:

1）Knowledge objectives:

①The Ss can master some new words and expressions as:

snack, butter, pear, piece, Practice makes perfect.

②The Ss can retell how to make a sandwich by using the step words.③The Ss can compare something with the comparative and superlative degrees of the adverbs.

2）Skill objectives:

Improve the Ss’ ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing in English, improve the practical ability of the students.

3）Emotional objectives: The Ss can concern about their life and family, and spread the ideas of love.

4）The key points and difficult points Key points:

Using the step words to express how to cook a meal. Difficult points:

The usage of the comparative and superlative degrees of the adverbs.

It is helpful to retell the passage clearly with the help of the step words. ③

II. The Analysis of the Teaching Methods: The Task-based teaching method and the Competition teaching method can increase the class efficiency, arouse the Ss’ learning interest and make the Ss learn about teamwork.

III. The Analysis of the Learning Methods: The independent inquiry learning method can arouse the Ss’ learning initiatives, and the Ss can discover and even solve the questions by themselves. So their confidence of English learning will be heightened.

The Warming-up:

1) Enjoy a flash. 2) Discuss in group: How to cook fried rice? Purpose: Ss can practice thinking and communicating in English by reviewing what they have learnt.

Stage 2

Pre-listening:

Lead Ss to learn the new words and expressions, and make sentences with them.

Purpose: Ss will be ready for the following learning and it will make English learning easier.

1) Listen and watch 1a，answer the question. 2) Ask Ss to finish 1b after listening to 1a.

Purpose: ①

The Ss can get and deal with the information faster by the various teaching methods. ②

The Ss can deal with the difficulties and learn more knowledge with the help of teamwork.

Stage 4

Post-listening

1) Encourage the Ss to retell the process with the help of step words, and then add more details.2) Do some related exercises together.3)Ask one student to show how to make a sandwich, then other students follow her to spend the DIY Time, finally share with others. Purpose: ① The Ss will be more confident about learning and using English. ②The teacher can know how well the Ss have learnt in class. Stage 5 Summary

1) Encourage the Ss to sum up the class by themselves.

2) Announce and congratulate the winners together. 3) Show the famous saying: Practice makes perfect.

Purpose: ①

The Ss can rethink what they have learnt in class to make a summary. ②

The Ss will try to do things by themselves in their daily life. Stage 6 Homework Assign the homework as follows: Make a sandwich for your mother at home. performance in those activities and exercises can tell the teacher how well they have learnt about the passage, so the teacher can plan the following lessons better. With the help of the various teaching and learning methods, the Ss’ learning interest and initiatives are aroused. And their ability of using English to communicate is also improved.
