Unit 7 Food Festival Topic1 We’re preparing for a food festival.

Section D 教学设计思路：

本节课是复习课。主要以完成任务的方式复习本话题学过的语法和功能句，并在运用中习得语言。首先，学生通过填写Grammar和Functions表格自己总结这个话题学了什么。从而培养学生定期自主总结和复习的能力。接下来将所学语言运用到预设的情景中进行练习和巩固。在task环节，通过对海报的阅读和讨论，了解海报的特点和构成要素。针对海报展开想象运用宾语从句进行交流。在Project环节，学生通过准备英语晚会，运用本话题所学的知识解决实际问题，达到学以致用的目的。整节课大多采用小组活动的形式，通过小组间良性的竞争与合作，培养友好互助的精神。

Ask Ss to read the passage and fill in the blanks to review the information about Craig Kielburger, Free the Children and the food festival in this topic.

Summarize what they have learned in this topic and then choose situations and make conversations with object clauses and functions of this topic. Situation 1: You are making a telephone call to invite one of your friends to your birthday party. Situation 2: You are talking about holding an English evening. Situation3: You are chatting online with one of your friends about how to raise money for a poor girl.

Situation 4: You are talking about something about Craig and Free the Children. 3. Ask four pairs to present their conversations in class.

Step 3 Consolidation 1. Listen to 1a and answer the questions.

Look at Michael’s poster for the food festival and discuss about what you can see in it. 3.

Talk about the poster with the students.

Step 4 Practice 1. Do 1b. Work in pairs and talk with your partner about the poster using object clauses. You can use “I know…”, “I think…” and “I imagine…” etc.

2. Ask several students to act out in class.

3. Do 2. Suppose there will be a parents’ meeting in your class next Sunday. Help your teacher write an invitation with the information. Exchange the invitations in pairs and check the partners’

invitation. Then show some of the students’ invitations. Correct the mistakes or improve them. 4. Do 3. Read and understand the following proverbs. Then learn more by heart.
