The material I choose is the story time of Unit 1. I divided my class into five steps.
First is greeting. Then I use a simple chat to welcome the teachers. After that, I use another chant to review the key words of Unit 1. After revision of words is the emotion education for them.
The second step is presentation. I use two questions to lead into the story teaching. (Who are they? How do they think of the school after they visited it? ) I taught students how to use “How….?”. Then I used “the most smart detective”
to watching a video and find out the key sentences. After that were reading the dialogue and role play the dialogue with the groups. I think these activities are very important for students to master the knowledge.
The third step is the song. According to the song, they can read and know the story well. After learning the song, it’s their turn to output the knowledge. So I let them to work in groups to practise the dialogue and asked some students to show us. It’s better for students to practice and act out the story. And then I designed an exercise for them. It’s retelling the story. After exercise there are two games for them. I think after long time learning, students will feel tired. So I designed the games
for them to relax. Also, it's a good way to practice what they have learnt.
The fourth step is singing the song again. The last step is summary and homework.
