Module 5 Unit 2 He’s riding his bike , but it starts to rain. 一、教材分析: 本课是外语教学与研究出版社出版的3-6年级的教材中的其中一册中的内容,注重语言交际能力的培养,该课涉及到六年级下册第五模块第二单元。Students have learned the “present continuous tense”in last module, so they can use the “is / am / are
/ + ing” to express some simple sentences. On this basis, students should learn how to inquire such situation, and they must learn the usage of the word “but”, pay attention to that they should use “the simple present tense” after the word “but”. For example, “He is playing the Suona, but the phone rings”. Because there are only a few students in our class, teacher should let every students to have the opportunity to practice “ask and answer” so as to check the teaching result. If some students can’t use the “present
continuous tense”
and
“the simple present tense”quickly and correctly, the teacher should make them practice more.
二、教学目标:
1. Knowledge objective:

Words: play, time, third, loudly, nothing

Sentences: He’s riding his bike , but it starts to rain. (3)
Grammar: present continuous tense, “be+V-ing”, + but + “the simple present tense”
(4)
Ability objective: Learn how to use “be+V-ing”, + but + “the simple present tense” to ask and answer. (5)
Emotional objective:Teacher should teach students to use “be+V-ing”, + but + “the simple present tense” to tell others that something is happening or somebody is doing something, while another thing happens or another person does something correctly and properly, so they can express something by “be+V-ing”, + but + “the simple present tense”as they like.

五、Teaching procedures:
Step1: Warming -up
1.
Sing a song: What are you doing? 2.
Free talk : “is / am/ are/ + ing”
Step 2. Leading
T: Act then asks: What am I doing?”
Ss: You’re having English Class.
T: Get several students to do and the students answer.
T: He is doing his homework, but...(引导Ss 回答猜测可能发生的事情)。
有人说“电话响了”,有人说“门铃响了”,有人说“小浩进来了”...... T: Today we’ll talk about the sentence “be+V-ing”, + but + “the simple present tense”, 解释“but”的用法。
Eg. He is doing his homework, but the phone rings. He is doing his homework, but the bell rings. He is doing his homework, but Xiaohao comes in.
Step 3. Text teaching
T: Show the pictures and listen. (twice)
Ss: Underline the new words.
T: Explain.
Ss: Read the words and spell them.
Game: Spell the words in groups work.
Ss: Listen and read the text. Then Act it out.
Learning the activities 1-3.
Step 4. Practice
1.
Talk about the sentence
“be+V-ing”, + but + “the simple present tense”. (谈论正在发生的事, 突然另一件事发生了。)
2.
Do the exercises of unit 1 in pairs and finish the activities 5-7.
3.
Do the role-play by learning the text.
Step 5. Summary 1. Repeat the“
“be+V-ing”, + but + “the simple present tense”. 2. Use “be+V-ing”, + but + “the simple present tense” to give several sentences for example.
Step 6. Homework
1. Write the contents in the text for three times so as to write a composition like this.
2. Ask the students to make six sentences by using “be+V-ing”, + but + “the simple present tense”and translate them in Chinese. 六、Blackboard Design:

七、Retrospection:
Teacher should explain the new grammar in details. Students can use the “be+V-ing”, + but + “the simple present tense” to express something. Some students can’t use the“be+V-ing”, + but + “the simple present tense”
quickly and correctly. Teacher should make them practice more. By practice, the students can use the grammar more skillfully than before.
