No.2 Experimental Primary School of Doumen Teaching Aids: PPT, word cards, stickers, E-book Previous Knowledge:

Pupils have learned “this is” and “that is” to introduce something simple.

Teaching Content: 1.

New words: father, mother, grandpa, grandma, sister, brother, friend. 2.

Sentences: That is my father. This is my friend.

Teaching Targets: Pupils are able

1.

To master the family member’s new words.

2.

To introduce family’s member to others in English.

3.

To read the text. Teaching Methods: 1. Communicative Teaching Method 2. Audio-lingual Method 3. Total Physical Response Method

Teaching Procedures A.

Greeting &Warming up

( 4’ ) a.

Greetings between the teacher and the pupils. (1’) T: Good morning, boys and girls. How are you? Ss: Good morning, Mr.Liang. I’m happy.

b.

Let’s chant—I can sing a rainbow.(1’) Students stand up and do the action.

c.

Teacher shows the color cards, and asks “What color is it?”

Ss: It’s yellow.

T: What’s this?

Ss: This is a ruler. T: What’s that?

Ss: That is a book d.

Students practice the sentences in pairs.

“What’s this? This is a …” “What’s that? That is a …”

B. Presentation ( 25’ ) Step1 To introduce the Peppa Pig’s family.

T: Here is the picture of Peppa Pig’s family. Do you like it? Ss: Yes! T: Today Sam is introducing his family to us. Do you know how does Sam introduce? Ok, let’s learn.

Step2 To learn the activity 1 ①Teacher introduces the background information of activity 1 and ask Ss to watch the video and listen what they are talking.

②Ask Ss to answer what are children talking in the video. ③Show the family tree and help Ss understand the words “father, mother, grandpa, grandma, sister, brother, friend”.

④Ss read the new words after the teacher.

Step3 To learn the activity 2 ①

Teacher introduces the background information of activity 2 and ask Ss to watch the video and listen how does Sam introduce his family to Daming.

Ask Ss to answer.

Help Ss understand and distinguish the different of “this” and “that” while introducing people. ④

Read after the video and circle “That is my father.”

Role play in groups and invite one group to show their performance. ⑥

Return to the picture of Peppa Pig’s family and ask Ss to introduce them.

(This is father, mother, brother, sister, grandpa, grandma.) C. Practice ( 8’ ) 1. Ss show their family photos and introduce their family members (This is my …).

2. Invite some Ss to show their performance. D. Summary( 2’ ) 1.

Read the words and sentences. 2.

Feedback 本节课教学准备充分,教学形式多样,教具直观、吸引性大,从而调动学生的积极性,课堂气氛热烈。本堂课中学生能学以致用,来介绍家庭成员(全家福)、联系实际。

角色扮演环节可以适当增加比重,增加单词认读与重点句型操练;上课间要注意个别表现,进行表扬;课堂指令需要进一步明确,多提出有效性问题。
