I. The Analysis of the Teaching Material 1.1. The Status and Function: Unit 7 Topic 3 Section B continues to talk about the Food Festival, and the Ss will know about how to order and offer

meals by phone, so that they can use the useful expressions in their daily life. Such a topic is related to our daily life, so it’s helpful to raise the learning interest of the Ss.

Meanwhile, their abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing in English will also be improved.

1.2. Teaching objectives and demands:

1）Knowledge objectives:

①The Ss can master some new words, such as lemon, tofu, bean, carrot, dessert, wine and seat.

②The Ss can learn to order and offer meals by phone.

Improve the Ss’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing in English.

In this lesson, I’ll adopt the following teaching methods: computer multimedia projector assisted instruction, task-based language teaching and communicative language teaching. In this way, the Ss can improve their abilities and develop their creative thoughts.

IV. The Analysis of the Teaching Procedures 1. Overall Plan: Warming-up --- Pre-listening --- While-listening --- Post-listening--- Project--- Summary --- Homework 2. Detailed Teaching Procedures and Purpose Stage 1

Warming-up:

1) Daily greetings. 2) Invite the Ss to enjoy delicious food and a beautiful song

“Lemon Tree”.

Purpose: A beautiful song can attract the Ss, and it’s a good beginning of the new lesson. Stage 2

Pre-listening:

1) Ask the Ss to read the new words of food by themselves, and then match

them with the pictures. 2) Ask the Ss to interview their partner about the food and drinks he or she likes, then complete the word map in 1c. 3) Ask the Ss to read the menu in 1a, and then circle the food they like. Purpose: The Ss can read and understand the new words individually, and communicate with others in English.

Stage 3

While-listening:

1) Ask the Ss to go through the table in 1b, and divide the listening task into

two parts. 2) Ask the Ss to answer the two questions for the first time.

Q1: Who is ordering a meal by phone? Q2: What’s his address? 3) Ask the Ss to listen again and answer the two questions.

Q1: What did Mr. Zhao order? Q2: Did he order any soup or dessert?. 4) Ask the Ss to check their answers and correct their mistakes quickly. Purpose: The Ss can finish different tasks by listening, so that their listening abilities will be

improved. Stage 4

Post-listening:

1) Watch a flash of 1a, and ask the Ss to imitate. 2) Ask the Ss to practice the
