The first period

Teaching aims:

1. Improve the students’ listening and speaking skills in communicating with others. 2. Lead the students to know more about the vocabularies. Teaching key points: 1.To master the whole vocabularies. 2.And to master some sentences. Teaching aids：

1.Flash cards of new words. 2.The PPT and the listening material 3.Some small gifts. Teaching steps: Step1 Warm-up/Revision

1.The teacher shows the flash cards of the words to review.

2.Play a game: Listen and do. The teacher put some cards on the teacher’s desk and ask one student to look and act. Let other students guess.

Step2

Presentation

1.Free talk How many rooms are there in your house? What are they? How much is this skirt?

2.Let the students watch the PPT. Guessing game. A: Look at these! Are these carrots?

B: Yes, they are.

A: Wow! They’re so big! A: What are these?

this—these; that—those B: They’re tomatoes.

A: But they’re yellow! B: Try some! They’re good.

A: Thanks. Yum.

3. Let the students watch the video and discuss:

A: Sarah, how do you like this skirt?

B: It’s very pretty.

C: Can I help you?

A: Yes. How much is this skirt?

C: It’s $89.

A: Oh, that’s expensive!

4. Let the students read the dialogue in different roles. And then let them act out. Design Intent：The Situational Approach can help students to understand the language and use the language to communicate. Step3
