Review 1.

Learn the new words, give time to remember, then check the words.

2.

Review comparative and superlative degrees of adverbs, finish Grammar, then practice. 3.

Review the functional sentences through A~C, finish Functions, try to recite them.

Part 2

Lead in

Show the students a picture of a fat boy. Ask the students what they think of the boy, the boy eats healthily or unhealthily, then give the boy some advice to eat healthily.

Step 2

Presentation

1.

Read 1a in groups and find out the healthy eating ways. Then let students answer. 2.

Read 1a again and translate the passage in groups. Let students of No. 3&4 translate the sentences one by one. 3.

Read 1a once more, lead the students to find out the introduction and conclusion part, then underline the topic sentences of supporting paragraphs. Finish 1b. 4.

Find the phrases in 1a, and give sentences, the teacher explains the usage of not only...but also.

Step 3 Practice

Let the students to talk about the healthy eating ways in their daily

life and write a short passage in groups, then report it to the class. 2.

Do exercise to consolidate the phrases in this class.

Step 5 Summary

Lead the students to have a quick looking back on the teaching content in this period.

not only ... but also ...连接主语时，谓语动词的人称和数应服从“就近原则”，最靠近谓语动词的部分，即but also 后面的部分（名词或代词）决定谓语动词的数。如:
