T: Yes. Now look at this picture, read after me: the Earth. Ss: The Earth. T: What can you see in these pictures? S: The Earth is moving/spinning./ There are days and nights./The Earth is near the sun. T: You are great! Then let’s brainstorm. Look at the picture and think about these questions : (1).What is the Earth like? (2). What color is the Earth? (3).How old is the Earth? (4).How is the Earth moving and spinning? Ss discuss for a while and answer. 2 Teaching new words. Teacher shows some pictures about the sun,the stars and the moon to review the words and guide Ss guess where we are going. 3 Ask questions about the story to pave a way for understanding:(1)Who went to a space museum?

(2) What did they do there?

(3)How did Peter feel after watching the film?

(4). What did Peter do in the library? 4 Watch the video to know about the story and answer the

following questions. 5 Teacher explains the whole story and underline some key words and phrases. Step 3 Retell the story.(Fill in the blanks)

Teacher lead Ss to watch the globe carefully. T: What is white in the Earth? What is blue in the Earth? Ss: Water,land.(T points out the white part and the blue part on the globe.) (2)
