教学目标：

一、语言知识目标

1.学习单词：elephant，map，over there，hill等。

2.学习句型：There is/are…. 3.学习韵律诗:Where Are They? 4.功能：描述动物的大小、外观和位置。

二、语言技能目标

1.能用所学语言描述动物的大小、外观等特点。

2.能够根据不同的示意图用英语说出位置。

3.能运用there be句型和方位介词准确说出动物所处的位置。

教具准备

地图、有关动物的图片、“一棵树”的图片、教学ppt 教学过程

Step 1 Warming up 1. Greetings. 2. Sing a song“ Follow me.”. Step 2 Lead in T: In unit 1, we talked about the winter vacation. And we know that Lily visited the Great Wall. Sally visited the museum. And my daughter and her father visited the zoo. Do you want to visit the zoo? OK, today we are going to learn Unit 2 A Visit to the Zoo. Part A. (指板书，带读) Step 3 New lesson 1.Review the words about animals. T: If I can visit the zoo, I want to see pandas. They are so lovely. What about you? 2.Teach “elephant”& “a baby elephant”

(1)T: Look, Sally’s family are in the zoo now. What does Kate wants to see? Watch the video and find the answer.

(2)T: Kate wants to see elephants. （板书elephant）

(3)Teach “elephant & baby elephant”（配合动作）

(4)Quick response. 3.Teach “There is a map over there.” (1)T; Kate wants to see the elephants. But the zoo is so big. How can they find the elephants? Open your books，and find the answer. Underline the sentence related. They find the elephants by a map. Because Kate’s father says “There is a map over there.”

(2)板书There is a map over there. (3)Teach“map”替换练习:a map of China/Fujian/Fuzhou (4)Teach “over there”替换练习。There is a window/door/picture/clock/light over there. 4.Teach “There are some elephants behind the hill”

(1)T: Here’s the map of the zoo. The map tells that “Go straight. And turn right.”

Where are the elephants? Open your books，and find the answer. Underline the sentence related. 引出“There are some elephants behind the hill.”

(2)板书There are elephants behind the hill. (3)Teach“hill”

(4)Review “behind/beside”(加动作) 5.Teach “under”

6.Teach “next to”

7.Practice (1)将四个方位词放在图片“树”相对应的位置

(2)寻找地图中其他的动物。引导学生用本课句型Go straight./Turn right. /Turn left. 以及用There is/are…描述动物的具体位置。

8.Teach the text. (1) Listen and follow. (2)分角色朗读。

Step 4 Extension 综合活动:小小导游

1.教师出示福州动物园园区地图,让学生扮演导游，同桌合作，规划路线，用所学句子向游客介绍园区内动物。

提示如下：

Welcome to the zoo of Fuzhou. _____________(Go straight./Turn right./Turn left.) There is/are______ (in/on/behind/beside/next to/under)________. _______________________________. 2.请学生上台展示。

Step 5 Homework 1.听课文录音,并模仿跟读。

2.完成《活动手册》中本课的练习。

3.运用本课所学的句子介绍自己的学校。
