过程:
‘What’s this?’ the pupils answer ‘my book’.
Then show a pencil/pen/schoolbag, and make the dialogue as above. Praise the pupils as much as possible. Stage 1: Listen and point. Sing the song. a. The teacher stands in the middle of the class. Then say ‘One, two, three, hop, hop, hop.’ While the teacher is saying
the words, count on her fingers as saying the numbers and hop as saying hop. Repeat it several times until the pupils start to do the movements naturally by themselves. b. Following the same procedure, introduce ‘Four, five, six, now let’s stop.’ When say stop raise the hand and make a decisive gesture for the pupils to stop. Again repeat the procedure several times. c. Open the book at page 10. Listen to the cassette, the pupils should point to the picture while listening. d. Play the cassette again. Sing with it together. (With movements) Tape script(abbreviated) Stage 2: Listen and point. Say the chant. a. The teacher starts counting from 1 to 6, saying each number out loud and counting on the fingers. Get the pupils to join in gradually, then write the numbers on the board, point to them and ask the pupils to repeat them. Make sure that numbers two and three are pronounced correctly. b. Point to the numbers in sequence without saying them, and get the pupils to say them out loud. Then gradually start pointing to the numbers in jumbled order. c. Cut out the six pictures of frogs from the Appendix of this book and stick them on the board. Point to a frog and describe it, ‘one frog’. Point to two frogs and say ‘two frogs’.
Continue like this, letting the pupils repeat the words spontaneously. d. Remove the pictures from the board and hold all six of them in one hand behind the teacher’s back. Take some of them with the other hand and show them quickly to the pupils asking ‘How many?’ The pupils have to guess the number. If the pupils give the right answer say ‘That’s right.’ If they give the wrong number say ‘Sorry,
try again.’ Instead of commenting on each individual answer, allow each pupil to give an answer before telling them the correct one.e.
With the books closed, play the chant on the cassette and ask, in the pupils’ mother tongue, if they have understood what is happening. Try to get them to answer that when the crocodile arrives, all the frogs fall into the water and disappear. At this point, ask the pupils to open their books and play the chant again. Point to the corresponding picture as they are listening. Do this exercise several times and then work on the text one sentence at a time, asking the pupils to repeat each one. Tape script
