一、Teaching objectives:

By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to ：Express what they want to be and the reason with the structures: I want to be …./I want to do….

And comminute with others about the future job with the dialogue: What do you want to be?

I want to be a / an ... . Improve abilities of listening and speaking. 3.

Focus of the lesson : Students can ask and answer what is the job

4. Predicted area of difficulty: 1. Ss can distinguish “What do you want to be?”

and “What do you want to do?”

2. The pronunciation of

“engineer”, “design”, “violinist” and “plane”

3. Ss can ask and answer using “What does he / she want to be? He / She wants to be …”

Step1. Warming up and Greetings : T: Hello, boys and girls. How are you?

Ss: Hello, teacher. I’m fine, thanks. And you ?

T: I’m fine, too. Thank you very much.

T: I am a teacher, it’s my job. (Write “job” on the blackboard and read a few times.) Can you speak some jobs? Look at the scrern. What are their jobs? Show “ teacher , student , policeman, nurse .” If you know, stand up and say it quickly.

(设计意图：此游戏一激发学习兴趣，二复习旧有知识，顺利实现由旧知到新知的知识迁移，引入本课的要教授的职业单词。) Step2：Intruduce the assessment. After the students say the job right and quickly. Give him/her a sticker for the prize. Tell the students : “If you can answer the questions right and quickly , you can get a a sticker for the prize.

（Each sticker has a word of different job.）At the end of this lesson , ask the students to count the stickers. Who gets the most stickers, who is the winner . (设计意图：向学生介绍评价方式，进一步激发学生的学习兴趣。)

Step 3: Presentation

1.Teacher acted as a doctor and ask : What am I ? Do you know ? Answer me: S1: A doctor . Read. T: When I was ten years old, I want to be a doctor. Read it a few times .What do you want to be ? Why? What do you want do? Today we will study Lesson 2: What do you want to be? (Write the title on the blackboard and read after the teacher together.) Learn : I want to be a doctor.

I want to help sick people . Teacher acted as a doctor and ask : What am I? Learn : I want to be a cook.

I want to cook wonderful food . Show pictures and go on to learn : pilot , engineer ,artist ,violinist, pianist ,fly planes, design spaceships ,draw pictures , play the piano/violin.. 2.

T: we have learnt a few words and phrases . Can you read them.? Show a ppt: Ask the students read the words and phrases. Then play a game . Teacher says the first sentence , the students say the second sentence to match the first sentence . eg. T: I want to be a doctor . SS:I want to help sick people . The students stand up and say it quickly. Who says the second sentence right and fastest , who gets a sticker .
