Teaching aims: 1.Knowledge aims：

（1）.Ss can read and distinguish the vowels /Iə/,/εə/,also read words pronounced with them. （2）.Ss can read and use the new words,phrases: fail, someone, feeling,joke,fail to do sth., at one’s age, tell sb. the joke and by the way. （3）.Ss can know about the key sentences to comfort others. 2.Skill aims：

（1）Ss can understand the conversation about giving suggestion for bad feelings. （2）.Ss are able to use target language to comfort others in bad feelings. 3.Emotional aims：

Through learning the Section B, Ss are able to care about other’s feelings and give others useful suggestion while they’re in bad mood. Key point

Greetings and Revision 1.Greetings T:Good morning, everyone, how are you feeling today? Ss:We’re fine. T:Great.Now, I’d like to divide the whole class into 4 groups…

2.Revision Review the phrases in structure of ‘be + adj + prep’

T:Let’s have a competition to translate the phrases learnt yesterday, discuss in groups and the group which translate the most in the shortest time is the winner . Ss in each group show their answer . Step2.Pre-listenning 1.New words learning T:shows some pic to learn the new words : fail、feeling

T:Look at the boy in pic, he feels so sad . Why ? Ss:Because he did badly in the exam. T:Right , he failed in the exam .

2.Lead –in T shows the pic in 1a and asks Ss to predict what suggestions Miss Wang will give Li Hong ? Step3.While-listening 1.Ss listen to 1a and finish 1b then check the answer . 2.Ss listen to 1a again and find the answer for the following questions: ①Why doesn’t Lihong talk to others ? ②What does Miss Wang tell her ? 3)Ss watch the video and follow the video to read 1a . Step4.Post –listening 1.T asks Ss to discuss the key sentences in group and find out at least 1 point each group then explain it. 2. Have a competition to read 1a in pairs. 3.Finish 1C according to 1a and check the answer. 4. Listen to 2a and fill in the blanks. 5.Learn the vowels.

Step 5 Summary T guides Ss to sum up the key words, phrases and sentences . Step6 Exercise Ss do some exercise to consolidate the key point .

Step7 Homework 1.Review the key words and sentences in Section B. 2. Make a survey to find out your friends’ unhappy feelings. Talk about the reasons and give them advice. Then make conversations to talk about it. 3.Preview Section C of Topic 2.
