What time is it?
Teaching procedure. Warming up. 1. Sing a song. T: Do you like singing? Let’s sing a song, OK? ( OK.) Stand up, please. “ Do you like baseball?” (通过唱歌让学生兴奋起来,调动学生学习的积极性,让学生快速投入到课堂中。) 2. Play a game. T: Do you like basketball? ( Yes, I do.) Do you like playing games? They are animals. Can you tell me what it is? Is it a …? What color is it? Is it …? ( fish purple , lion yellow , rabbit red ) What time is it? It’s ten o’clock. It’s time to have a new lesson. (通过此游戏让学生复习学过的知识,并激发学生学习的欲望。)
3. Learn the title. T: Today we’re going to learn Unit 9 What time is it? Read after me. Unit 9 What time is it? (出示本节课的学习目的,让学生有目的地进行学习。)
New lesson. 1. Teach “a clock”
T: What’s this? It’s ( an apple.) No, it’s a clock. Clock. What’s this? It’s a clock. Spell it. Clock. C-L-O-C-K a clock. (通过strawberry的钟面,让学生带着兴趣自然地学习的clock的读音。)
2. Teach “o’clock” T: What time is it? It’s one o’clock. A clock(同音) o’clock. What time is it? It’s two o’clock. What time is it? It’s three o’clock. It’s four o’clock. It’s five o’clock. It’s six o’clock. It’s seven o’clock. It’s eight o’clock. It’s nine o’clock. It’s ten o’clock. (通过引导示范,让学生举一反三。)
3. Game: Find out the right match.
T: Here are the cards of the o’clock and the time. Please find out which two are the right matches. For example: one o’clock =(一点钟面) You are divided into four groups. If you know, clap your hands. OK? One two begin. (利用钟面进行句型的操练,逐渐增强他们对句型的理解、认识、运用能力。) 4. eleven T: What time is it? It’s eleven o’clock. Eleven E-L-E-V-E-N eleven. Is it eleven o’clock? ( Yes, it is. ) 5. twelve T: What time is it? It’s twelve o’clock. Twelve T-W-E-L-V-E twelve. Is it twelve o’clock? Yes, it is. Is it twelve o’clock? No, it isn’t. (通过重点突出eleven和twelve的教学,让学生在操练中熟练掌握这两个单词,为后面的学习做好铺垫。)
6. Game: Wolf, Wolf, what time is it? T: Let’s play a game. Look, I’m a wolf. In this game, you ask me: wolf, wolf, what time is it. If I say: It’s one o’clock. You must ask me again. If I say: “ It’s eleven o’clock or It’s twelve o’clock.” You must go to bed. If not, I will eat you. (通过这一游戏,使学生在不知不觉中运用了句型,而且达到了活跃课堂、调节课堂的目的。)
7. Listen to the tape of Vocabulary and Target. T: Please open your books at Page 45. Listen to the tape. (通过听录音朗读课文,加深对新知识的记忆,并且让学生模范标准语音。)
Practice. 1. Learn to sing. T: Now let’s learn a new song. “ What time is it, Tony?” Listen first. Sing after me and do the action. (通过唱歌的活动,活跃课堂气氛,调动他们学习的积极性,同时,巧妙的复习了本课的学习内容。) 2. Listen and number. T: Look at the pictures, please listen to the tape and number. There are four pictures the actor will act the dialogues. Please guess “ What time is it”. For example. He will do the action. You can ask “ Is it… o’clock?”
(通过观察图,让学生知道所学的句型在什么时候适合使用,运用了task-based教学方法。)
3. Competition. T: Everyone has a piece of paper. But you don’t know the time. You must ask your friends “ What time is it?” and draw the time. You must ask him sigh his or her name. At last, I will see who draw the most clocks. (通过朋友间的对话和画钟面,激发了学生的艺术潜能,使学生在快乐中学习和运用。)
Conclusion. T: Today we’ve learned how to ask and tell the time. If we don’t know the time, we can ask: “What time is it? or What’s the time? If you not sure the time, you can ask: Is it…. O’clock? We know one o’clock to twelve o’clock. If it’s 4:30. We can say: It’s four thirty. What about this? 3:20 11: 05 (通过小结,简明扼要地复习了本节课的重点和难点,并让加深了本节课的内容,让学有余力的同学获得更多的知识、得到更好的发展。)
