Warm-up 1.

Lead-in. 展示世界地图，标注出英国的位置，并提问。

T: How can the boy get to the UK from China? S: By plane. 引入情景，即小男孩要去英国旅行，展示英国的景点和不同的文化风情。

II.

Presentation 1.

Famous sights in the UK. River Thames/ London Bridge/London Eye/ Big Ben. 2.

The difference in traffic (1). Double-decker. T: He’s hungry. He will take a bus to the restaurant. Look! The bus is different from China. It’s a double decker. 出现双层巴士的图片，学生了解英国巴士与中国的不同，并学会使用句型be different from 表达不同。再根据图片观察巴士在路面的位置，了解英国靠左行驶。

(2). People drive on the different side. T: Look at the picture, in the UK, Which side do people drive? S: …

T: In the UK, people drive on the left side. It’s different from China. In China, people drive on the right side. 学生根据课文中的句型，完成填空。

(3). Look right In the UK, people must look right before crossing the road. T: We know that people drive on the left side in the UK. So if you want to cross the road, you must …?

S: Look right. T: And in China, we must first look left, and then look right. 3.

The difference in food. (1). Fish & chip (2). Chopsticks. We can use chopsticks, but the British can’t.

Story-time (1). Introduce Annie. T: Look, who is this girl? And where is she from? S: Annie. The UK. T: She comes to China with her parents. She is Amy’s good friend.

(2). Show the story with some questions. Amy is happy to see Annie. Can Annie use chopsticks? No, she can’t.

In China, people drive on the right side. In China, people must look left first before crossing the road. The double decker is the same as in London. Why is there no door on the bus? Because Annie is looking at the wrong side again. (3). Listen and repeat. 跟读文章，讲解文章难点。

III.

Consolidation and Extension 1.

Find the mistakes. 根据本课学习的中英两国习俗，找出图片中不符合两国风俗习惯的地方。

(1). In the UK, people drive on the left side. (2). In China, people use chopsticks. (3). In China, people must look left, and then look right before crossing the road. (4). In the UK, people can’t use the chopsticks. 2.

Role-play. T: Now I’ll give you 5 minutes to practice. Try to act out the story with good pronunciation and expression. 小组合作展示故事中的某个情景。

Emotional Goal T: There are many differences between China and the UK, we eat different food, we have the different traffic rules, we have different weather and maybe we have different colours. But, always remember, it’s OK to be different.
