本单元教材重点话题是谈论自己和他人在将来的打算。本单元的话题涉及到个人,家庭,朋友的情感,爱好,工作,话题贴近学生的实际生活,容易引起共鸣,激发学生的学习兴趣。本教材从三年级起就以个人情况信息为中心,如姓名,年龄,性别,爱好,外貌特征等,逐渐推进,反复出现,螺旋上升,以此巩固一般现在时的运用表达,让学生在大量的语言实践中,认识了解掌握一般现在时的特点及用法,如be动词的搭配,第三人称单数的用法,为后面的将来时态中will be a…,will do ..做了很好的铺垫。同时五年级上册出现的句型I want to be a…I
want to do..也为本单元的句型学习做了进一步的铺垫.课文的编排形式也由简单的自我介绍,他人介绍,逐渐以短文的形式出现,进行全方位的描述,给学生提供了很好的听说读写锻炼,表现的空间,可以使不同程度的学生都有提高的可能。
学生已经在三年的学习中多次应用过一般现在时,他们已经具备了一定的语言知识和技能。能够对职业,爱好等进行描述表达,本单元的话题是学生比较感兴趣的,他们会有自己美好未来的憧憬,通过本单元话题的学习和交流讨论,他们会很有兴趣用将来时来描述自己和他人的未来,并能正确认识自己的长短,做进一步的规划,想象未来。学生可能对will be 和will do 不好准确运用,课堂上老师应充分利用板书,通过大量的例句,引导学生发现比较两者的异同点,从而突破本单元的难点。

创设真实的语言学习环境,让学生在真实的语境中,看一看,说一说,听一听,猜一猜,观察,思考,总结等学习方法。本单元的知识难点will be 和will do两者的区别,需要老师引导学生通过大量的例句板书的比较,观察,讨论,总结,发现,得出学习规律,从而突破难点。
