Sub-Topic: What can you hear? Period: The 1st period Task：To make a dialogue

to introduce different things by using modeled patterns.

Sub-Task: To name different vehicles in the street and ask for information by using the sentence pattern “What can you hear?” . Background study and material analysis:

In Kids’ Stories 1, Oxford 1A and Joy of learning 1, the students have learned some words about vehicles like “bicycle, car, bus”. The other three words like”van, train, ship” are totally new for them to learn. Students will learn the pattern “What can you hear?” in this lesson and need to use this question to make a dialogue with their deskmates. So the teacher can guide the students to use the patterns fluently.

Objectives:

To get to know the names of different means of vehicles. To make a dialogue by using the question “What can you hear?”
