Ability Objective: Students can talk about table manners for a formal western dinner party. 3.

Emotional Objective: Students can develop their love of life, and they can use these sentences make a chat with their friends or parents about western table manners.

Teaching Key Point and Difficult Point: New words and phrases. Western table manners.

Teaching Aids: PPT, Blackboard, Video.

Teaching Methods: Task-Based Language Teaching, Situational Teaching Method, Multimedia Assisted Teaching,PWP.

Teaching Procedures: Step 1. Greeting. Step 2. Read some new words. Step 3. Review Section A about First, Next, Then, After that, Finally, and Section B about whether/if. Step 4. Lead-in Suppose you would go to a formal western dinner party for the first time, but you don’t know their table manners. Do you want to get some advice?(give students 2 mins to discuss about this.)

Then, watch a video about table manners and ask students what mistake did she make in the dinner? After that, let students discuss what mistake did she make? Step 5. Pre-reading Look at the pictures and review some new words. Then finish 1a, look at the picture and write the words on the lines. Step 6. While-reading Students read 1a by themselves and finish 1b.(mark T or F) Next, check the answer with students. Then, translate 1a together and learn the key point of 1a. Step 7. Post-raeding Compare western table manners with Chinese table manners. Homework: review the new words and preview P68 and Section D. Blackboard Design: Unit 7 Topic 2 Section C 1.
