教材分析：

本模块的教学内容是新标准英语第八册第五模块，教学内容是描述正在做一件事情时另一件事情同时发生的场景，共有两个教学单元。第一单元教学围绕大明举办生日聚会这一题材开展，并通过一系列真实的活动，说明事件的变化。第二单元的课文是六组图片说明。本单元是在第一单元的基础上，通过图片信息等活动对现在进行时进行操练。本模块继续复习现在进行时的用法，是其知识的拓展延伸。同时本模块内容贴近学生的生活实际，有利于培养学生在真实的语言情景中运用英语进行交际。学生在学习了本册三、四模块之后有了一定知识的铺垫，比较易于深入与扩展，这样的安排，既体现了教材循序渐进、由难到易的编排，又符合学生的知识水平和认知水平。

学情分析：

六年级的学生对英语学习已经有了一定的经验，掌握了一定的词汇基础，通过前面的学习，初步掌握了基本的句型，并能利用英语根据情景进行简单的交流。通过知识迁移能够以旧带新，但是由于英语环境的缺乏，利用英语介绍相关内容仍是本课的难点所在。

教学目标：

1. 语言知识目标（语音、词汇、语法、功能、话题）：

1）功能：描述正在做一件事情时另一件事情同时发生的场景。

2）语法：全体学生能运用：

He is playing the suona, but the phone rings.

He’s riding his bike, but it starts to rain.

3）词汇：全体学生能理解：play，third，time，bark，loudly，nothing让学生能运用：play，time；部分学生能运用：third，

bark，loudly，

nothing 4）语音：进一步强化语音语调，初步达到语调达意

2. 语言技能目标（听、说、读、写）：

1）听：全体学生能听懂：He’s playing the suona, but the phone rings.

2. Look and say. （利用多媒体设备出示一些动画人物活动照片，让学生用现在进行时对其进行描述，通过这种游戏形式把学生的注意力迅速吸引到英语课堂中，既复习了一些已学动词以及进行时的句子，又为后面的学习和运用作好铺垫。）

What's happing to him this time? Please read the last paragraph by yourselves. (2)Answer the questions.
