Unit 7 She looks Tall and Thin. 教材分析:

陕西旅游版小学英语教材从三年级到六年级共八册,教材编排以及所选内容都贴近学生生活,符合学生的发展和成长需要,内容具有较强的实用性,体现了人文特色。各个教学单元的选用与设计都充分体现语言的交际功能,突出语言教学的目的说为了应用,并运用语言来完成交流的需要。本课选自陕西旅游版五年级上册第七单元第一课时,学习表示称呼的名次和描述人物特征的形容词,描述人的简单句型,要求学生用已学和本节课新学描述人物的词汇和句子来描述朋友或者家人的特征。

学情分析:

本课的授课是小学五年级学生,有了两年学习英语的经验,大多数的学生已经掌握了一定数量的英语词汇,而且具备了简单句型的组织能力,他们能够较远熟练地运用简单的英语进行日常对话。小学生都喜欢直观展示或者视频展示的接受形式,色彩感较强,且容易理解和掌握。学生们活拨好动喜欢唱英文歌曲和歌谣。他们期待在生动有趣的英语课堂中感知语言、习得语言。学生普遍善于表达,喜欢在课堂上展示自己。

Teaching aims:

1.Knowledge aims: Know about the words : aunt、uncle、kid、friends、

thin、strong、young、old;

2.Ability aims: Try to use the words “ looks, is ,likes, has…” to introduce your friends or family.

3.Emotion aims: Love and help your friends and family.

Teaching process:

Step 1. Greet and lead in.

T: Good morning, boys and girls!

Ss: Good morning, Miss Chen!

T: Nice to meet you!

Ss: Nice to meet you, too!

T: Are you happy today?

Ss: Yes, I’m happy.

T: I will show a beautiful picture for you. What can you see in the forest?

S1: I can see many trees.

S2: I can see grass.

S3: I can see some mountains.

T: T here also are many animals in the forest. Look! It’s a rabbit. What does its ears look like?

Ss: They look long.

T: What about its tail?

Ss: It looks short.

T: What can the rabbit do?

Ss: It can jump.

T: Look! It’s a giraffe. What does it look like?

Ss: It looks tall.

T: What does its neck look like?

Ss: It looks long.

T: Look! The elephant is coming. What does it look like?

Ss: It has big ears and long nose.

Step 2: New pressation

T: There are many animals live in the forest. They are good friends, and they live happily together. I also have many friends. I will show some photos about my friends for you. Please enjoy them.

I’m happy to travel with my friends. I’m glad to take photos with my friends. I often have dinner with my friends. I also have a happy family. I have a son and a daughter. Do you have many friends?

Ss: Yes.

T: How many friends do you have?

Ss: two, three, four…

T: I will introduce one of my friends to you. This is my friend. His name is John. He looks tall and thin. (Show out the word card ) He has yellow hair. He likes playing basketball. We all have a happy family. Then I introduce our friend Alice’s family. Listen and know about her family. Ss: (Look at the picture of Alice’s family and listen once)

T: Listen again and finish the short passage. (Let some students fill in the blanks and then show the words cards on the blackboard.)

T: Now I will give you some information about someone. Please guess who he/she is.

He is young. He looks tall and thin. He likes playing basketball. He comes from Baoji city.

Ss: He is our Chinese teacher, Mr. Tang.

T: Yes, you are right. He is very handsome.

She has small eyes and short hair. She looks thin. She likes singing and playing the piano. She is very beautiful.

Ss: She is our classmate, Yang Yulu.

T: Good job today! I think you all know about another people. Please look at the picture.( Show out a picture about Yao Ming and Lu Han). Please give me some information you know about them. You can say with these sentences. (Show out the structure)

S1: Yao Ming looks tall and strong.

S2: Yao Ming likes playing basketball.

S3: Lu Han looks thin.

S4: Lu Han likes singing best.

S5: Lu Han can sing very well.

Step3: Practice.

T: You all have a photo of your friends and family. Then introduce them to your deskmate , and then introduce them to all of us. (Students show)

T: When we get together with our friends and family , we are very happy. Now let’s enjoy a song.

Ss: Listen to the song and try to sing.

(Show out “ We are good friends. We should help each other.”) T: (Play a video“family公益广告”边播放边解说“F” means father. Father likes a big tree in our family. “M” means mother. I want to grow up quickly. I often make father and mother angry and sad. When I grow up. I found the life is so tired. Father is old. Mother is old, too. Now I should protect them. We all should protect them, love them.)

本节课我通过四个重要环节四种展示形式来完成本节课的内容教学。导入环节以动态图片和自己制作的照片视频让学生感受动物们和人类和朋友及家人在一起的快乐心情,进而通过介绍自己的朋友和听录音完成短文的形式介绍本版本教材中熟悉的人物Alice的家人引出本课新词汇,让学生在句子描述和语篇中感受词汇所表达的意思。再运用新词汇及句式介绍学生熟悉的班主任和同班同学,让学生再次理解新词汇和句型的意思。操练环节以学生自主描述明星鹿晗和姚明两个人的喜好和特点初步检测学生的语言组织能力,再通过介绍自己准备好的朋友和家人的照片来写一片四五句话的短文,再进行展示。最后以歌曲《the more we get together》和公益广告视频《family》升华主题,教育学生爱朋友,爱家人,培养学生乐于助人的传统美德。

本节课优点是学生在课堂上的听、说、读、写、练都以不同形式得以训练,而且导入和情感目标的突破都是以直观的图片或视频的形式展示,极大的吸引了学生的注意力,增强学生对知识

的理解。不足之处是如果Alice 的家庭照能换成学生比较感兴趣的明星或者老师的家庭照,我想效果会更好。
