Oxford English 4B Module 2 My favourite things Unit 3 Home life Period: The first period
Task: The students are going to introduce one room by using at least 5 sentences
Learning objectives 1. To identify different places at home by using the key words and phrases e.g. bedroom, living room, bathroom, kitchen, make a model plane, do my homework, wash my hair, cook dinner 2. To describe the room by using the key patterns e.g. I can make a model plane in the living room. I often watch TV in it. 3. To inspire the love to their famlily. Difficulties: To help the students describe the room in a logical way.
Aids: media, cassette, flash cards,
PROCEDURES I. Pre- task preparations
CONTENTS
Places revision
school, classroom, playground, office, gym, computer lab, garden, canteen, library, etc
Where do you live? Is it near or far away from your school?
1. bedroom, living room, bathroom, kitchen
make a model plane

METHODS 1. T: Show the picture in a flash way and ask the students to name the places Ss: Name the places
2. T: Show two questions Sn: Answer the questions.
PURPOSES To review the places they have learned before
To arouse the students’
interests and elicit the topic
II. While-task procedures
1. T: Show four pictures of rooms
and four paragraphs Ss: Read and match
T: Check the answer and elicit each room, bedroom, living room(sitting room) bathroom, kitchen
2. a living room 1) T: Elicit the word—living room
Ss: Imitate the word
2) T: What can you do in the living room?
Sa: I can watch TV in it.
3) T: What can Kitty do in the living room? Elicit the phrase—make a model plane Sn: Imitate the phrase and make a new rhyme.
To extend the meaning of key word and review the previous content
3. a bedroom 1) T: What’s in the room? Ss: There is a bed. T: Imitate the word—bedroom
2) T: Kitty, what do you often do in it? Elicit the phrase—do my homework Ss: Do exercises. 3) Ss: Read the sentences.
