Teaching Objecive

Students are able to master the words “eleven” and “twelve”, and use the sentences “ What time is it?”

“Is it …?”

“Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.” in their conversation. (2)

Students are able to develop their listening, speaking, and writing skills. (3)

Students are able to understand the importance of cherishing time. 2.

Be able to know the pronunciation and the spelling of “ eleven”

Teaching aids: PPT, a hand-made clock 5.

Teaching procedures:

Step1: Warming up (1)

Greeting and introducing a new friend--Ben. (2)

Sing the song “Ten little fingers”. (3)

Count the numbers according to the pictures. Step2: Presentation (1)

Use pictures to teach the new words “eleven” and “twelve”. (2)

Present a riddle, and then teach the expression of time and

play the game “catch the helicopter”

Creation the situation: Ben has friends from all over the world. He gives calls to them. This elicits the sentence structures “What time is it?”

“It’s...”.

Play the game “Mr. Clock, Mr. Clock, what time is it?”

Create another situation: Ben has some lovely clocks, but they are dirty. Then let students use the sentence structures “Is it ...”

“Yes, it is./No, it isn’t.”to help Ben read the time. Step3: Practice

(1) Present the dialogue, and then let students make up a conversation by themselves.

(2) Sing the song “What time is it?”.
