It’s more than four hundred metres high. Teach aims: Vocabulary: more, about, museum, clock, high, beautiful, building. Language: It’s a museum. It’s two hundred years old. The clock is fifty metres high! Function: Talk about a building’s length and hight.

Teach aids: pictures ( CAI ), word cards. Teach steps:

Step 1: Warmmer

Sing an English song The Great Wall of China. Step 2: Revision 1.

Play a word game. Try to guess the words: walk, long, visit, China, thousand, kilometres, moon, million. 2.

Ask and answer: How long is your bed / desk? It’s ….

Step 3: Presentation 1.

Show the picture (CAI). Listen and answer the teacher’s questions:

How old is this building? c.

How high is the clock? d.

What are there on the building? e.

Is this building beautiful? 2.

Look at the pictures and talk about them.

Listen to the tape and read after the tape.
