The teacher shows a family photo and says: “Look, I have a big happy family. This is my brother/sister/cousin/uncle/aunt.”

2. Then teach the new words: brother, sister, cousin, uncle, aunt. 3. Play a game: The teacher write the words on the blackboard, point to one word, the students read it quickly.

4. Pair works. 5. Listen to the recorder and ask the questions: Q1: Is this your sister? Q2: Is this your brother? 6. Shows the pictures of “Helen”. Lead to the new phrase“look

like”. Tell Ss the Chinese meaning. 7. Game time: “Look and guess”.

III. Production 1. Play a game “What’s missing?” The teacher shows all the flashcards of family and changes the locations of the cards quickly, and then, takes out one card and asks the students to guess. Again and again. 2. Finish the part of “Try to do”

(part5). Write something about their family members and talk them with friends. 3. Do some exercises in exercise book (part1 and part 3). 4. The teacher asks the students to read and act the dialogues by different characters. IV. Summary Ask several Ss to sum up what we have learnt in this class. V. Homework 1. Read the dialogue and write the Look at the family photo and learn the new words.
