1.观察1a，总结拓展

（1）As a result意为“___________”,表示某种情况或行为所带来的后果。

As a result of 表示“由于……的原因”。例如：

He was hurt as a result of the traffic accident .他因为交通事故受伤了。

（2）in order to 意为“为了”，后接动词原形，表示做某事的________。该结构可以放在句首，用逗号与后面的句子隔开，也可放在句中，此时不需要用逗号。

“

in order to+动词原形”可转换为so that/in order that 引导的目的状语从句，从句中常用may，can，will等情态动词。例如：

In order to raise his family ,he works over ten hours every day.=He works over ten hours every day so that/in order that he can raise his family.为了养活家人，他每天工作十多个小时。

Do you know about Red Nose Day in the UK？Usually British people wear plastic(塑料的）red noses on that day. Even though someone doesn’t wear it , he will go and buy one.Do they do it just for fun ? Of course not. In fact, it’s a special way to raise money for the people in need in the UK and Africa .With each sale from the plastic, a donation (捐款）is made to Comic Relief. Red Nose Day was started by Comic Nolief, which was set up by some comedians(喜剧演员）in1985.They wanted to help the poor people in the UK and Africa .They wanted to make sure that everyone could have fun .That’s why Red Nose Day was born . The first Red Nose Day was held in1988.It is held every two years now . 30% of the raised money goes to the poor people in the UK and 70% to the poor people in Africa. Now Red Nose Day has become the biggest fund-raising (筹款的）event in the UK. (
